Last week was another good week for my wide receivers in the bargain section, with Pierre Garcon and Terrance Williams both finding the end zone. Â Looking to build upon the positives from last week, here are my bargain players for this weekend’s games:
Brandon’s Bargains: FanDuel NFL DFS Week 3 (Sun 9/27-Mon 9/28)
Quarterback
Ryan Fitzpatrick ($6,800)
Opponent: vs Eagles
The Eagles rank 25th in pass defense on this young season in terms of yardage so Fitzpatrick should be able to have a big game in terms of passing yards throwing it to Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker (if healthy). Â The only caveat is that the Eagles have only given up three passing touchdowns in their first two games so this is definitely a boom or bust type play.
Jameis Winston ($6,500)
Opponent: at Texans
For all this talk about the Texans pass rush, they only have four sacks as a team through the first two games this season, which has led to them being tied for third in most passing touchdown surrendered (five). Â Winston is a big, mobile quarterback with a big arm and could have a big game. Â Not many people are talking about him this week but until Houston’s pass rush lives up to the hype this is a good play in Guaranteed Prize Pool entries.
Running Back
David Johnson ($6,000)
Opponent: vs 49ers
This rookie running back has excelled in all facets of the game so far (eight yards per carry, a receiving and kick return for touchdowns). Â His workload is expected to increase with Andre Ellington still out. Â He faces a tough test against division rival San Francisco but he should be able to contribute to your lineup this weekend as well.
James Starks ($6,500)
Opponent: vs Chiefs
Starks’ value is of course contingent on Eddy Lacy’s health, which at this time is 50/50 on whether or not he will play. Â Starks has shown he can carry the load when called upon and matches up against a Chiefs team that can struggle in run defense when on the road.
Wide Receiver
Marvin Jones ($5,000)
Opponent: at Ravens
Jones found the end zone last week against the Chargers and faces an average pass defense in the Ravens that just got torn apart by the Raiders last week. Â With all the attention normally garnered by A.J. Green, Jones could improve on his numbers this weekend.

Rishard Matthews ($5,700)
Opponent: vs Bills
On paper, this may not look like a great matchup but the Bills pass defense has given up nine pass plays of more than 20 yards this season. Â If you are looking for a cheap option at receiver, Matthews is worth a flier.
Tight End
Vernon Davis ($5,400)
Opponent: at Cardinals
Davis is off to a so-so start this season and faces a Cardinals defense that historically he has done very well against. Â If Davis is going to have a breakout game, this could be it.
Kyle Rudolph ($5,300)
Opponent: vs Chargers
Rudolph caught his first touchdown pass of the season last week and will continue to be a red zone target for Teddy Bridgewater and the Vikings this season.  I expect the Vikings/Chargers game to be a higher scoring game so Rudolph will get his opportunities  on Sunday.
Kickers
Kyle Brindza ($4,500)
Opponent: at Texans
I don’t know about you, but this game has ugly written all over it. Â There should be some scoring, a lot from the field goal variety. Â With Brindza having one of the stronger legs in the league let’s see if he can build on his 16 point FanDuel performance from last week.
Andrew Franks ($4,500)
Opponent: vs Bills
With the two defenses that will be on display on Sunday, this is another matchup where the kickers should benefit. Â Franks could be in for one of his better days of the season this weekend.
Defense
Broncos Defense ($4,600)
Opponent: at Lions
The Denver defense gets its first true test of the season taking on the Detroit Lions in a Sunday Night Football tilt. Â Even though the Lions have a formidable offense, Stafford is hurting and can be forced into bad throw when rushed. Â Denver has two of the best pass rushers in the secondary combined with an above average secondary could make it a long night for the Lions.
Panthers Defense ($4,600)
Opponent: vs Saints
The Panthers get a Saints offense that has been a shell of its former self so far. Â And if Brees doesn’t suit up this weekend Carolina could be a must start. Â I’ll have them in a couple of my lineups this weekend regardless as this looks like a favorable matchup for the Carolina D.
Let’s see if we can keep the positive momentum going this weekend. Â Feel free to comment below with some of your personal bargains for this weekend’s slate of games. Â Good luck everyone!
