Brandon’s Bargains: FanDuel NFL DFS Week 4 (Sun 1pm-Mon)

This week’s action of football is spread out across Thursday, early Sunday, the regular Sunday slate and Monday Night Football.  For the sake of compacting things some I’m not analyzing players from Thursday night or the London game.  Here are my bargains for Week 4:

Quarterback

Derek Carr ($7,000)
Opponent: at Bears

Carr squares off against a porous Bears defense Sunday afternoon.  Although the Bears are 6th in pass defense, they have surrendered eight passing touchdowns in the first three games of the season.  Carr could be in line to throw a couple of touchdown passes this weekend.

Brandon Weeden ($6,400)
Opponent: at Saints

The Saints rank 23rd in pass defense and have surrendered six touchdown passes.  If you’re going to start Weeden against an opponent in DFS, this is the team to do it against.

Running Back

Karlos Williams ($6,300)
Opponent: vs Giants

With McCoy most likely out, this is a perfect game for Williams to break out.  In a reserve role, he has 186 yards and three touchdowns on just 24 carries this season.  Even though the Giants currently rank second in run defense, I feel this is their first big test against a strong running game.  I believe Williams should get around 100 yards and a touchdown in this matchup.

Thomas Rawls ($6,000)
Opponent: vs Lions

Another backup with a potential start on his hands, Rawls could be in position for a ton of carries against the Lions.  I know you may be worried about Fred Jackson taking a lot of carries but throughout Jackson’s career he’s been very effective as a third down back.  I can see Rawls getting the majority of the carries and Jackson getting the third down work.

Wide Receivers

Michael Crabtree ($5,800)

Opponent: at Bears

Crabtree has been targeted an average of 11 times per game this season.  His yards and only one touchdown have been kind of disappointing but I think the Oakland run game should help open up more opportunities for the Raiders passing game.

Robert Woods ($5,400)
Opponent: vs Giants

Sammy Watkins will miss this game due to a calf injury with should allow Woods to see a large increase in targets against a Giants team that is ranked last in defensive passing yards per game.

Tight Ends

Charles Clay ($5,200)
Opponent: vs Giants

Clay has a receiving touchdown in each of his past two games and is facing a Giants team that has been torched by tight ends all season.  In terms of bargain hunting, Clay is about as close to a must start and you can get.

Tyler Eifert ($5,700)
Opponent: vs Chiefs

Although the majority of the damage done to the Chiefs pass defense has been by opposing wide receivers, Eifert is by far the best tight end they have faced so far this season.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Eifert has a big game tomorrow with Kansas City having to devote multiple defenders to A.J. Green.

Defense

Broncos Defense ($4,700)

Opponent: vs. Vikings

The Broncos face a very one dimensional Vikings team at home on Sunday.  If Manning can get the Broncos out in front early it could limit the effectiveness of Adrian Peterson.  Broncos should finish with more than three sacks in this game.

Chargers Defense ($4,400)
Opponent: vs Browns

San Diego is ranked 9th in total defense and are home against the Browns who are ranked 25th offense.  The Chargers should have a good day on the defensive side of the ball.

Kickers

Cairo Santos ($4,600)
Opponent: at Bengals

The Chiefs should be able to move the ball on fairly effectively against the Bengals, but probably not enough to score more than a couple of touchdowns.  Santos hasn’t done much since Week 1 so I feel he is due to have a decent game tomorrow.

Graham Gano ($4,700)

Opponent: at Buccanners

Gano has scored at least 10 points on Fanduel two of the first two games of the season and goes against a Buccaneers team that normally plays the Panthers fairly close and low scoring.  We could be in for another field goal driven, low scoring type of divisional matchup.

There you have it for Week 4.  As always, feel free to comment below on who you feel should be looked at as a bargain player.  Good luck everyone!
