Brandon’s Week 1 NFL DFS FanDuel Bargains

Finally, after months of waiting the NFL is back!  If you are reading this, you are probably an avid FanDuel player, I know I am.  Sometimes when I am creating a lineup I would like to have a few cheap options to put in there so I can add that extra superstar that has a high upside of having a huge game.  Throughout this season that’s where I will help you out.  I’ll give you a cheap option at every position to use for the Sunday/Monday slate.  Let’s have a great season and win some money!

Quarterback: Dak Prescott $5000
Opponent: vs Giants

A lot of people will have Prescott as their value pick.  Playing behind a solid offensive line and a very good group of receivers to throw to, Prescott should more than exceed expectations on Sunday.  His ability to throw and run could allow him to put up very good numbers.  And if last year is any indication, the Giants are the perfect defense to get an NFL career started against if you’re a rookie quarterback with the weapons that Prescott has.

Running Back: Spencer Ware $5400
Opponent: vs Chargers

With starter Jamaal Charles looking more and more likely to miss the season opener (and maybe another game or two), Ware will slide into the starting role in Kansas City.  Even if Charles was to play, Ware was projected to get the goal line carries for the Chiefs in most situations.  With fellow backup Charcandrick West also experiencing a nagging injury of his own, Ware should get all the carries he can handle.  The Chargers were ranked in the bottom third in run defense last year so this is a great opportunity to get good production out of the running back slot with low investment.

Wide Receiver: Tajae Sharpe $4800
Opponent: vs Vikings

Rookie receiver Tajae Sharpe will start for the Titans in their Week 1 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.  With not a lot of options in the Titans passing offense, Sharpe could see some looks in the passing game this weekend.  If the Vikings are able to jump out to an early lead, that could really help Sharpe’s cause since that would force the Titans away from what should be a solid rushing attack this season.

Tight End: Kyle Rudolph $5300
Opponent: at Titans

With the unfortunate injury sustained to Teddy Bridgewater, it seems the Vikings will turn to Shaun Hill until Sam Bradford is up to speed with the offense.  Hill makes me feel old because I remember watching him play for the University of Maryland when I was in high school!  But as we have seen with rookie/veteran backup quarterbacks is that the tight end is their best friend.  Rudolph should be good for a touchdown in this game.

Kicker: Josh Lambo $4500
Opponent: at Chiefs

Chargers kicker Josh Lambo looks to build off of a strong last season.  I think the Chargers should be able to move the ball against the tough Chiefs defense, but not enough to get touchdowns.  In a division rivalry game to begin the season, expect a field goal battle early before either offense gets things going.

Defense: Falcons $4200
Opponent: vs Buccaneers

I don’t really like any of the cheap options on defense for this weekend’s games, but if I was forced to choose one it would be the Falcons defense against the Buccaneers.  Atlanta always seems to play really well during the first month or so of the season and I’m banking on their defense to have an above average game against division rival Tampa Bay.

There you have it for your Week 1 bargains. These choices should allow you to get superstar production at basement prices.  Good luck this weekend!
