The Best DraftKings NFL DFS Advice: Thanksgiving

Welcome to my DraftKings Thanksgiving DFS slate article! We have a fun three-game slate to enjoy while we eat our turkey! We have the Lions taking on the Packers, followed up by the Commanders versus the Cowboys, and then the 49ers take on the Seahawks in the night game. This is a small slate but those are my favorite, so let’s dive into things!

Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy ($6,100) @ SEA

This slate is so fun because every QB is in play, and all have viable paths to being optimal at the position. However, since I have to choose a favorite, I’m going back to the best value of last week’s slate with Brock Purdy. He put up 29 DraftKings points last week, and he is only $300 more expensive on this slate. If the Niners continue to work through Purdy who has the best weapons around him of any of the QBs, he is in line to be the best value for a 2nd week in a row.

Jordan Love ($5,500) @ DET

Jordan Love quietly put up 23 points last week, with over 300 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is the cheapest of the six QBs on the slate, and he can allow you to get up to some of the more expensive skill players on the slate. Not only is Love the cheapest QB, but his pass catchers are the cheapest on the slate. If you stack Love with either Watson or Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks ($3,300), you will easily have enough salary to get up to McCaffrey and an expensive WR or another expensive RB. Love with Wicks + one more Packer is probably my favorite contrarian way to play this slate.

Runningbacks

Christian McCaffrey ($8,700) @ SEA

It is going to be extremely hard to not play CMC on this slate. There is a realistic scenario where McCaffrey outscores the next-best RB on the slate by 25 or more. He should be a good stacking partner with Brock Purdy, but I am going to try my best to jam him into every lineup this week if salary allows it. I prefer to save salary at WR.

Brian Robinson Jr. ($5,900) @ DAL

I am writing this on Monday, and I am only writing this because Antonio Gibson was a limited practice participant today. Should Gibson be out, Robinson is my favorite RB play of the week. Coming in as the fifth-most expensive RB on the slate, Robinson’s usage with Gibson out was phenomenal last week. He has seen 13 targets over the last 2 weeks, as well as 25 rushing attempts. He saw 7 of those 13 targets with Gibson healthy! They trailed in that game, and they will likely be trailing on Thursday. Robinson’s role the last 2 weeks has been elite, and he is way underpriced should his teammate miss a second straight week.

Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb ($8,700) vs. WAS

Lamb comes in as the best WR on the slate, and he gets the best matchup of the week versus Washington. He is appropriately priced as the most expensive receiver on the slate, and in my opinion, a far better option than the $8,500 Amon-Ra St. Brown. Lamb is coming off a pedestrian 16-point performance in a game that Dallas led the entire way. He faces a much weaker secondary in Washington that is giving up the 3rd most fantasy points to the position this season. Should Howell and the Commanders push the Cowboys more than expected, Lamb could crush the slate as the top WR on Turkey Day.

Dontayvion Wicks ($3,300)

I mentioned him earlier, Wicks is $300 above the stone minimum this week. He has seen 4+ targets each of his last 3 weeks, and he had 5 targets last week turning into 3 catches for 91 yards. If Wicks continues his upward trend and performs similarly to last week, he will give you access to McCaffrey and Lamb where other teams may struggle to get there. If Wicks can score a touchdown, he will be the receiver you need to take down the slate.

Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson ($3,900) vs WAS

Ferguson experienced some touchdown regression last week after scoring three in a row before that. Last week, he faced a Panthers defense that has defended the pass well. This week, he gets a much more favorable matchup in the Commanders who have been getting torched through the air, even by Tommy Devito! I like this as a good bounce-back spot for Ferguson, who is the third-most expensive TE on the slate but $1,300 cheaper than the second-most expensive TE Sam LaPorta.

Logan Thomas ($3,500) @ DAL

I mentioned Logan Thomas last week in my main slate article. He wasn’t able to find the endzone in a game where Washington struggled as a whole. But despite the lack of big production, he had 8 targets, bringing his average targets per game over the last 5 weeks to over 6! I love Thomas as a cheaper TE option this week, allowing you to pay up at other positions.

Defenses

Dallas Cowboys ($3,800) vs WAS

Dallas is the most expensive D/ST this week, and for good reason. They are averaging over 4 more fantasy points per game than the next-highest defense on this slate. This week, they get Sam Howell who is coming off a 3 interception game versus the Giants. Howell continues to get sacked at an extremely high rate, and expect that to continue versus Dallas. If you can save some salary at other positions, paying up for this defense is more than worth it.

Detroit Lions ($3,200) vs GB

Detroit is third in pricing at defense this week. They get Jordan Love who has been quite turnover-prone this year, with 10 interceptions thrown on the year. Detroit’s defense has not been the best, but Love offers them some upside, especially if Detroit gets up early and forces Love to air it out all game.
