DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 12/28/20

NBA DraftKings Lineup 12/28/20 brought to you by
CraftBeerClub.com

We have a nice sized 5-game slate tonight, and we already have some “load management” players to contend with. Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose have already been ruled out. Anthony Davis is one that we will have to monitor, but I expect him to play.

Sunday’s article wasn’t great, I hit a few — missed a lot. Early in the season is tough, but the NBA spreadsheet is coming along nicely and should be ready for prime-time soon. Once that hits, you will see my calls getting better, and hopefully, you will be able to use it as well.

NBA DFS Legend

Nothing But NetMy top plays of the night at his position.
DunkA Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.
Half-Court ShotOtherwise known as a “punt play.” A Low-priced, high-upside player.
Blocked Shot A player I’ll be avoiding. Otherwise known as “Fading.”

Guards

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 12/28/20

Nothing But Net | Damian Lillard (POR) $10,300 @ LAL

Lillard struggled against the Lakers in the bubble, but he normally plays some of his best games against the Lakers. He had 82.8 DK points in his last non-playoff game against LA and averaged 61 in three games. Lakers are giving up the fifth most DK points to point guards so far on this young season (per FantasyPros.com).

Dunk | Ja Morant (MEM) $8,300 @ BKN

Morant is the next superstar in this league — if he isn’t already — and his price of $8,300 is almost disrespectful. I’m assuming Kyrie Irving will be the one trying to defend Morant in this game — advantage Morant. Morant’s price will start to creep up to 9k, and, if he has the game I expect him to tonight, he might be 9k for his next game.

Half-Court Shot | Delon Wright (DET) $4,600 @ ATL

The Pistons are resting veterans Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose, opening up a bunch of minutes for a few guys. Wright is already playing 35+ minutes, but his scoring opportunities should increase with those two out. At $4,600, he will be a pretty chalky play.

Blocked Shot | Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC) $8,000 vs. UTA

After SGA put up 46.3 DK points the day after Christmas, DraftKings lowered his price $300. Why? Because of the Jazz’s defense and their slow pace of play, and that’s why I will be avoiding this trap and not chasing points.

Nothing But Net | Anthony Davis (LAL) $10,100 vs. POR

After taking a night off, I’d expect Davis to play tonight. If he does in fact play, you’re going to need to find a way to get him into your lineup. He owns the Blazers. He averaged over 57 DK points against them last season, and that average is being brought down by one game in which he only played 17 minutes (and he still had 37 DK points). He is the most likely player on the slate to put up 80 DK points.

Dunk | Jerami Grant (DET) $5,900 @ ATL

I mentioned earlier that some Pistons players would be getting more minutes with Griffin and Rose not playing. Grant is one of those guys. Yes, he played 42 minutes in his last outing, but I think the 31 he played on the 23rd is more where his season average will end up. He should put up close to 40 minutes tonight and he just dropped 52.5 DK points on the Cavs a few days ago.

Half-Court Shot | Josh Jackson (DET) $4,200 @ ATL

Jackson is another player that should benefit from some extra minutes in Atlanta. Even if he hits his current average of 26 DK points a game, he will pay off his salary and he was doing that while averaging 24 minutes. He should see closer to 30 tonight.

Blocked Shot | Kevin Durant (BKN) $8,600 vs. MEM

The way the Nets are using Durant early in the season, I don’t see the huge upside he used to have in Golden State. Yes, he is playing great by NBA standards, but we want fantasy points. Averaging 41.8 DK points is nothing to sneeze at, but if I’m rostering Durant, I want 60-point upside and I don’t see that happening.

Centers

DFS NBA DraftKings Lineup Advice 12/28/20

Nothing But Net | Nikola Jokic (DEN) $9,800 vs. HOU

How he isn’t over 10k is beyond me. He dropped 74.8 DK points in the opener and, yes, he followed it up with only a 51.8 game on Christmas, but he plays Houston tonight — a team known for their inability to defend big men like Jokic. He is a value at $9,800.

Dunk | Jonas Valanciunas (MEM) $7,700 @ BKN

The Nets are giving up the second-most DK points to centers and the third most rebound on this young season. Val has two double-doubles in two games this season, and he should easily be able to get a third in this game.

Half-Court Shot | Mason Plumlee (DET) $5,700 @ ATL

The only team worse at defending the center than the Nets that I mentioned previously is, you guessed it, the Hawks. Not only do they give up the most DK points to centers, they give up the most NBA points to centers as well.

Blocked Shot | Christian Wood (HOU) $7,200 @ DEN

His price got a little too rich for me after his 50-plus DK point game. I liked him much better at $5,900. This matchup does not favor him either.
