Draftkings and Fanduel MLB Lineup Advice 6/4/15 by RotoTrick

Top Pitching Options

Matt Harvey (DK – $10400, FD – $10700) –Many shied away from Harvey in his last outing after the words “dead arm” were tossed around. Although he allowed 4 runs, Harvey struck out 11 and lasted 8 innings (27.8 DK points), alleviating concerns about his health. The Dark Knight has been great this year, with a 2.87 SIERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 27% strikeout rate. His opponent, the Diamondbacks, is average against RHP with a 0.318 wOBA (12th) and 19.4% strikeout rate (12th). However, Harvey’s talent should win out, and Vegas agrees as he’s a -150 favorite.

Steven Wright (DK – $4300, FD – $5600) – Wright is a decent option if you’re looking to spend up big on pitching. While Wright’s numbers on the year look decent – 3.90 ERA and 1.27 WHIP – his 4.76 SIERA suggests there may be some regression there. But it likely won’t come in this matchup, as the Twins are poor against RHP with a 0.291 wOBA (27th) and 22.3% strikeout rate (26th). Wright is also a -150 favorite and could very easily have 12-13 DK points to return great value.

Top Hitting Options

Matt Carpenter (DK – $4400, FD – $3700) – Carpenter is having a strong year, especially against RHP. The Cardinals’ third baseman has a 0.426 wOBA and 0.246 ISO vs. RHP and gets a weak one today. The Dodgers throw Carlos Frias on the mound, who gives up a 0.416 wOBA vs. LHH this year. Frias has also been much worse at Dodger’s stadium, posting a 7.02 ERA and 0.370 wOBA as opposed to a 1.89 ERA and 0.289 wOBA on the road. Thing line up well for Carpenter and it should result in a strong day.

Steven Vogt 1B/C (DK – $4100, FD – $3500) – Vogt is the top play at C and is always a great option against an average to weak RHP. Vogt has a 0.428 wOBA and 0.305 ISO vs. RHP and has reached base in 19 straight games. The A’s get Shane Greene and his 4.30 SIERA and 0.392 wOBA vs. LHH. At only $4100 on Draftkings, Vogt is one of the top plays of the day.

Joey Gallo 3B (DK – $3700, FD – $3300) – I’ve faded Gallo both games. Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice…. Although Gallo struck out 3 times vs. Chris Sale, he hit a HR off Zack Duke in the 9th Yesterday. While Carlos Rodon has good stuff and the platoon advantage against Gallo (but so did Duke), he’s not Chris Sale and Gallo is a great cheap play.

Top Value Play

Ruben Tejada 3B/SS (DK – $2800, FD – $2700) – Tejada continues to bat 2nd for the Mets and continues to produce, even yesterday against James Shields (3H, 1 2B, 1 RBI). As long as he’s priced this low, he’s a great option at a shallow SS position.
