Clayton Kershaw (DK – $15000, FD – $13300) – Kershaw’s price has finally hit $15k on DK (probably a fair price), which may cause some people to fade Kershaw but he’s so locked in he’s worth the hefty tag. Over the last 30 days, Kershaw has a ridiculous 1.32 SIERA and 37.5% strikeout rate. He’s also returned a 3X ROI on his salary his last 3 outings as well. On the year, he boasts a 2.04 SIERA and 33.9% strikeout rate (both the best in baseball). His opponent, the Athletics, are average at best against LHP with a 0.300 wOBA (20th) and 17.0% strikeout rate (2nd) and they just lost Ben Zobrist and lose their DH in the NL, weakening their offense further. You’ll have to skimp on bats, but if you can make him work he’s worth the price.

Tyson Ross (DK – $10800, FD – $8500) – Ross has been the subject of trade rumors, but is unlikely to get dealt and gets a great matchup against the struggling Mets. Despite some minor trades for Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson, the Mets still sport a 0.294 wOBA (26th) and 20.1% strikeout rate (17th) against RHP. Ross has pitched well with a 3.25 SIERA and 25.2% strikeout rate on the year. He also gets one of the Mets weaker pitchers in Bartolo Colon, putting the win within reach and making Ross a solid play.

Chris Tillman (DK – $6000, FD – $6300) – On the year, Chris Tillman has one of the worst SIERAs of all qualifying pitchers at 4.52 (7th worst in baseball) and below average strikeout rate at 17.5%. However, over the last 30 days he has a 3.27 SIERA and 22.4% strikeout rate. His overall numbers keep his price down despite his strong play of late, making Tillman a great GPP option.

Top Hitters

Adam Jones OF (DK – $4100, FD – $2900) – Jones has quietly crushed LHP this year with a 0.399 wOBA and 0.236 ISO, yet he’s moderately priced on DK at only $4100. Despite only allowing a 0.305 wOBA to RHH and 2.49 ERA, Banuelos has a 4.71 SIERA on the year and is due to blow up. Against a good hitting team in hitter friendly Camden Yards, his number might be up and Jones will likely be in the thick of it.

Melky Cabrera OF (DK – $3600, FD – $3600) – The White Sox offense has finally found its positive regression and their bats are heating up. Over the last 14 days, Cabrera has 0.430 wOBA and 0.277 ISO. On the other hand, Rick Porcello allows a 0.351 wOBA to LHH and 3.85 SIERA (5.51 ERA) on the year, putting Melky in a great spot to continue his hot streak.

Adonis Garcia 3B/OF (DK – $2000, FD – $n/a) – After hitting homeruns in his previous two games, Garcia managed only a single last night, but continues to hit cleanup for the Braves and is minimum salary. Despite Tillman being a nice GPP option, he can still be targeted and at this price it wouldn’t take much to produce a solid ROI.
