Fantasy Football: QB, TE and Team Defense Streamers for Week 10

Before unveiling Week 10’s quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy football streamers, let’s see how Week 9’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Derek Carr-16.74 points
Tight End: Trey McBride-3.7 points

Team Defense: Atlanta Falcons-9 points

Four teams are on bye in Week 10, and with the Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams idle a lot of fantasy football rosters will be thin for options.

Here are the top quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers to plug into your fantasy lineups for Week 10.

Quarterback: Joshua Dobbs, Minnesota Vikings vs. New Orleans Saints

With literally no first-team practice reps after being traded to the Vikings last week, Dobbs was pressed into action when rookie Jaren Hall suffered a concussion in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. He proceeded to complete two-thirds of his passes, with 158 passing yards, 66 rushing yards and three total touchdowns (two passing).

Going back to the end of his time with the Cardinals, of course, Dobbs has multiple touchdown passes in back-to-back games and a rushing touchdown in three straight. In four straight games, he has rushed for more than 45 yards or scored a touchdown on the ground.

It’s not a great matchup for Dobbs in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints, who are in the top half of the league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. But they also just allowed 18.8 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) to Tyson Bagent in Week 9. The Saint have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in three of their last four games, and a quarterback has rushed for more than 55 yards against them in two of the last three.

It’s easy to dismiss Dobbs as a fantasy asset, but his matchup in Week 10 is better than it might look. Even with a viable option who’s set to return to action, the Vikings’ signal caller is my No. 1 quarterback streamer this week.

Others to Consider: Kyler Murray, Arizona Cardinals vs. Atlanta Falcons (check availability, confirm he will start); Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Tennessee Titans; Will Levis, Tennessee Titans at Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts vs. New England Patriots (Sunday morning-Germany); Taylor Heinicke, Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals; Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos at Buffalo Bills (Monday night)

Tight End: Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Tennessee Titans

Otton has six receptions (on nine targets) for 70 yards and two touchdowns in Week 9 against the Houston Texans. He has played less than 96 percent of snaps just once all season, and lately that has started to yield opportunity with 21 targets over the last three games.

The Tennessee Titans enter Week 10 allowing the fifth-fewest points per game to tight ends (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR). But as FanDuel/numberFire revealed, they have allowed the eighth-highest catch rate (76.7 percent) and the seventh-highest catch rate over expectation (6.7 percent) to the position.

Guaranteed playing time, a rising target share and sneaky solid matchup makes the Buccaneers’ rookie the No. 1 tight end streamer for Week 10.

Others To Consider: Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts (Sunday morning-Germany); Luke Musgrave, Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers; Jonnu Smith, Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals; Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings (check availability); Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals vs. Atlanta Falcons; Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints at Minnesota Vikings

Team Defense: Las Vegas Raiders vs. New York Jets (Sunday night)

The Raiders’ defense was an easy streaming option in Week 9 against the New York Giants, and results were boosted by Daniel Jones suffering an unfortunate torn ACL (six points allowed, eight sacks, two interceptions). Las Vegas’ defense has posted at least nine fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) in four of its last five games (at least 12 points three times).

Week 10 bring a second straight matchup against a New York/New Jersey team with a feeble offense. The Jets have scored a total of 19 points and lost five fumbles over their last two games. Zach Wilson has been sacked 17 times over the last three games, and he has been sacked at least three times in six of the last seven games. The Jets have scored more than 20 offensive points once in eight games this season.

The time for the Raiders’ defense to be a streamer is coming to an end, based on ownership rate and matchups after Week 10. But for one more week, the well of fantasy points is deep for this unit.
