This week we have the Indianapolis Colts coming into Houston to face the Texans. The Colts have struggled out of the gate, they will look to right the ship this week. The Texans on the other hand were never expected to make an impact, so we have to say they are exactly who we thought they were.

Fantasy Football:TNF Week 5 Sit/Start

Indianapolis Colts

For the Colts, I feel at this time, they only have one player that your starting regardless of matchup and that’s Andrew Luck. I know he has struggled of late and he is banged up, but, unless you have 2 top end QBs, you have to start him. If you have him start him and hope he can get things right this week.

Start

T.Y Hilton-WR

He got off to a slow start this season and then got banged up. Over the last 2 weeks he has slowly been making more of an impact. The Texans Secondary is weak so I would expect he is ggoing to find room to make plays.

He finished up last week with 7/67 and has caught 11 balls, for 161 yards over the last 2 weeks. The only thing that is concerning is that he seems allergic to the endzone.

I will say this, last week he had 13 targets, in weeks 2 and 3 combined, he had 14. It shows that the colts are going to be looking his way more and that they want to get him more involved.

Donte MoncriefWR

Moncrief got off to quite a hot start this season, posting 23/275/3, over the first 4 weeks of the season. With Hilton getting worked back into things, evident by his 14 targets last week, Moncrief hasn’t been targeted more than 7 times yet this season. It wouldn’t surprise me to see his production dip a bit.

He does have some factors working in his favor this week. For starters, the Texans secondary is pretty laughable and seriously lacks talent. Also working in his Favor is the fact that Andre Johnson has looked toasted.
As long as Andre Johnson isn’t performing, it leaves enough work for Moncrief to be effective

Coby Fleener-TE

I like Fleener this week but Dwayne Allen will likely be back, even so, I still expect Fleener to get work between the 20s. They like to look for him deep in the seam. This secondary will be pre occupied with stopping the Colts WRs, so the TEs should be able to produce.

SIT

Frank Gore-RB

He hurt his foot last week, but, practiced in full on Tuesday, so i’m not expecting that to be a problem. Gore has opened the season with 54 attempts, 227 yards and 3 touchdowns. Not bad, he has an AVG YPC of 4.2.

The problem this week is that J.J Watt and arguably the best front four in football will be standing opposite of him. I’m guessing he will have limited room and spend most of the night bottled up.

Andre Johnson-WR

He hasn’t looked good to start the season. Quite frankly he has looked toasted. Posting just 7/51/0, that’s not just one game that’s the whole season.

Clearly there are problems here, he shouldn’t be starting any week, this week included. He has already been passed on the depth chart, by Moncrief. Let’s face it, his owners aren’t struggling with sit/start questions, they are trying to figure out if they should cut him.

Houston Texans

The offense has been a mess, some of that is due to the fact that they haven’t had Foster up until last week. However, there are other reasons they are struggling, their QB play has been atrocious.

This team does have 2 matchup proof starters though. DeAndre Hopkins is a bonafide WR 1 and should be started accordingly. Arian Foster is another must start this week. I know he is just getting back from injury and we are concerned about how much work he can put in, but, the defense is weak and he is a stud you have to play.

Start

C.J Fiedorowicz-TE

Outside of their 2 every week starts, its hard to find another player you feel good about starting in this offense. I think Fiedorowicz is a decent play this week.

The Colts defense can certainly be beat. They are one of the weaker defenses in the league and are quite vulnerable down the seam.
Additionally, keep in mind that Cecil Shorts and Nate Washington will not be playing in this game. The Texans will look to the TE to be the 3rd receiving option to Hopkins and Foster.

Sit

Ryan Mallet-QB

Mallet is a young QB who really hasn’t proved to us that he should be playing at this level. The Colts defense is usually a matchup I’m looking to start QBs against.

Mallet has basically rendered the Texans passing game ineffective and even got pulled from the game last week. I have 2 reasons to avoid him this week. (1) he isn’t very good,(2) he will be on a short leash.

Being that they put Hoyer in to finish the game indicates one thing to me. If he gets off to a rough start, they will only be looking to pull him out of the game that much quicker.

Any other Texans WRs

If his name isn’t DeAndre Hopkins you want to avoid him. Even with the Colts defense being weak, there is reason to avoid these guys. They are down there 2 best options, outside of DHOP, so I’m expecting more use of the TE to supplement the missing WRs. Furthermore, these guys just suck, move on there is nothing to see here.
