Running backs

Lance Dunbar-DAL

Lance Dunbar has been used actively in the passing game each week. He finished up week 3 with 10 catches for 100 yards. He had his most productive game of the season and we learned he could still be a factor with Weeden in the game.

Dunbar is the front runner on the RB waiver wire conversation. I can’t say he will catch 10 balls a game, but, the way Weeden leaned on him today proves that there will be days that he has double digit targets.

Matt Jones-WSH

After a big showing in week 2 he surged up the waiver wire list. Week 3 did not go as planned, but, game flow didn’t dictate that the Redskins could stay in their comfort zone and pound the rock. His fumble late in the game, on what should have been a touchdown was disheartening.

We did learn that his workload is going to be there from week to week. I like him for a 12 carry minimum on a weekly basis. I wouldn’t pick him up to start him, just in case the coaching game wants to punish him for the back to back fumbles in the last 2 weeks.
Moving forward, he should be put in better situations to succeed. Cousins isn’t a great QB, but, he won’t go giving games away in the first 10 minutes every week.

Ronnie Hillman-DEN

He has been a reoccurring name on this list, he hasn’t exactly produced a ton of fantasy points. Quite frankly, he is one of the least appealing names on this list.

The bottom line here is, we have seen C.J Anderson get dinged up a few times already this season. Furthermore, Anderson hasn’t looked impressive when he has the ball. If Anderson were to go down and Hillman can post some numbers in his absence, he could very well steal this job.

Karlos Williams-BUF

The Bills have consistently used Karlos Williams in the first 3 weeks of the season. McCoy has been battling a hamstring injury, Williams took advantage of his added role this week totaling 110 yards and a touchdown.
Moving forward, as McCoy gets healthy, I would expect a reduction in his role, but, that doesn’t mean he won’t be useful as a flex option.

Theo Riddick-DET

He only matters if you are in a PPR league, he has more receptions than carries on the season. He is the least valuable running back on this list, but, if all the other options are gone and you need a guy to produce next week, you can plug him in and hope for 10 points.

Wide receivers

Rishard Matthews-MIA

This is going to be his last week on this list, but, if this dude is still sitting in you waiver wire please pick him up. We have seen him targeted enough throughout the first 3 weeks that we know we can trust him.

He finished up week 3 with a 6/113/2 statline. He has 16 receptions for 262 yards and 3 touchdowns. He now has back to back 100+ yard games. It’s time to get this kid on your roster.

Michael Crabtree-OAK

He has not been consistent and I don’t expect that to change, however, the Raider’s Offense has been looking good and Carr has been looking his way. This gives him a definite chance to produce every week and in the right Matchups he can give you solid numbers. Next week, he gets a real nice matchup against a Bears secondary that has struggled. If you’re looking for a guy to plug into your lineup next week he is a good option.

Leonard Hankerson-ATL

While he didn’t post the big numbers this week, we did see him get targeted more than Roddy White, for a 2nd straight week. We even heard the Falcons coaching staff say that they viewed Hankerson as their 2A, clearly they didn’t want to make Roddy feel bad.
Moving forward I view Hankerson as the Falcons WR2. He can’t be trusted on a weekly basis, but, if you can get him in for his weaker matchup he can help you to a few wins this season.

Cole Beasley-DAL

He is a risky pickup right now with Romo out. Weeden doesn’t like throwing to his WRs. He only completed 4 passes to WRs. One encouraging thing from week 3 was, that all 4 completions went to Cole Beasley.

Marvin Jones-CIN

Marvin Jones is emerging as a deep threat compliment to A.J Green. I wouldn’t expect a ton of consistency here, but, his ability to make plays on the deep ball earns him a spot on this list.

Tight end

Jordan Reed-WSH

He had another big week and is proving to be a consistent week to week producer. His durability is definitely a concern, but, he has consistently been featured in the game plan and should be owned in 100% of leagues.

Eric Ebron-DET

Ebron has slowly been settling in as a low end TE1 to begin this season. He put together a solid night this week, grabbing 4 balls for 61 yards. He did have a bad drop, but, that’s not the end of the world. He should get his targets on a week to week basis and on weeks he scores he could drop some big numbers.

Quarterbacks

Tyrod Taylor-BUF

He has proven that he can lead this Bills offense. His ability to use his legs, is an asset in any fantasy league. He finished up week 3 with 277 yards and 3 touchdowns.

He has shown impressive ball placement so far this season. He has been anticipating his WRs routes, he is now in the QB1 conversation, if you’re having troubles at the QB position and he is available on your wire, you have to grab him.

Derek Carr-OAK

The Raiders offense as a whole has been impressive over the first few weeks of the season. Amari Cooper has started to emerge as a top flight WR and that has helped Derek Carr look like an intriguing fantasy option.

He has 726 yards and 5 touchdowns on the season. We would like to see more touchdowns from him and we should, this Raiders offense will be getting better and better as the season goes on. He is a solid waiver wire pickup this week.

Marcus Mariota-TEN

He has been making plays with his arms and his legs. One thing I see when he plays is he telegraphs his passes, this could lead to a heightened interception total.

Other than that, he is a solid QB, on another emerging offense. I’m not sure I wanna rely on him every week though. He is better used in a tandem, with another B level QB.
