Fantasy Football Week 14 Streamers: QB, TE and Team Defense

As usual, before digging into Week 14’s streamers let’s see how Week 13’s quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers did for fantasy football managers who deployed them (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Derek Carr-9.94 points
Tight End: Pat Freiermuth-4.4 points
Team Defense: Atlanta Falcons-17 points

Week 14 is the final bye week on the 2023 schedule, with the Washington Commanders and Arizona Cardinals idle. It’s also the final week of the regular season in most fantasy football leagues, so streamers take on greater importance.

With that, here are your quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for Week 14.

Quarterback: Gardner-Minshew, Indianapolis Colts at Cincinnati Bengals

Minshew threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns, and perhaps more importantly zero interceptions, against the Tennessee Titans in Week 13 (18.7 fantasy points). He has topped 15 fantasy points four times since taking over for Anthony Richardson, and Week 14 brings another nice matchup.

The Cincinnati Bengals enter Week 14 allowing the ninth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (Yahoo! scoring). Since their Week 7 bye, five of six quarterbacks have topped 20 fantasy points against them (Yahoo! scoring) and they have not intercepted a pass in any of the last three games. The 8.1 yards per pass attempt they allow is worst in the league.

Deploying Minshew in a fantasy lineup comes with embracing a wide range of potential outcomes, and maybe some unwelcome excitement when you watch him play. But even with that, he’s still the top quarterback streamer for Week 14.

Others To Consider: Joshua Dobbs, Minnesota Vikings at Las Vegas Raiders; Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons; Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams at Baltimore Ravens; Jameis Winston, New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers (assuming Derek Carr is out); Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers; Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Indianapolis Colts

Tight End: Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens vs. Los Angeles Rams

Likely stepped in for the injured Mark Andrews as Baltimore’s No. 1 tight end in Week 12, as he finished with four catches for 40 yards on six targets. The deeper metrics were good (73 percent snap share, 83 percent route participation, 14 percent target share), and a Week 13 bye kept him off a good chunk of fantasy rosters.

In Week 14 Likely gets a great matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, who are allowing 7.3 targets (10th-most in the league) and 5.1 receptions (13th-most) to tight ends this season, along with six touchdowns (tied for third-most) to the position. That translates to the third-most fantasy points allowed to tight ends (0.5-point PPR).

Likely would not be a streaming option if he hadn’t had a bye in Week 13. That just makes him the easy choice as the top option for Week 14, uniquely available and with a great matchup.

Others To Consider: Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos; Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans at Miami Dolphins (Monday night); Brevin Jordan, Houston Texans at New York Jets (if Dalton Schultz is out); Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Minnesota Vikings

Team Defense: Houston Texans at New York Jets

The Texans held the Denver Broncos to 17 points in Week 13, as they sacked Russell Wilson three times and intercepted him three times. They have posted multiple sacks in five of six games since their bye, with multiple takeaways in three of their last four games.

It’s as easy as it gets for Houston’s defense in Week 14. The New York Jets are making another quarterback change, after releasing Tim Boyle on Tuesday. Brett Rypien was signed off the Seahawks’ practice squad in a corresponding move, so it’ll be him, Trevor Siemian or a reportedly reluctant Zach Wilson starting under center for them on Sunday. And frankly, it doesn’t really matter. The Jets have not scored more than 13 offensive points since before their bye, with 19 total offensive points over their last three games.

A high floor and a high ceiling makes for an ideal streaming defense, as does facing the Jets when possible. The Texans get that honor this week.
