Alright, fantasy football fans, it’s time for my latest GF2 installment of Cut’em or Keep’em! Each week I give you five players who are on the fence to either drop from your team or hold on to for just one more week. Week 7 is officially in the books and I’m excited to see what this one will bring us. Each of these players in this article all had tons of upside going into the 2015 season, but they just haven’t performed to my liking.
So, here we go everyone, my Week 8 Cut’em or Keep’em players:
Carlos Hyde, RB 49ers
Hyde is owned in 97.8 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues. He began his season with a bang and made us all believe he truly was a fantasy monster against the Vikings. Since that illustrious first game, Hyde hasn’t amassed 100 rushing yards since. This season, he has rushed 115 times for 470 yards and three scores. Hyde has rushed for right at 67.1 rushing yards per contest and really could be a big deal in the NFL one of these days. His largest obstacle is the putrid play of the 49ers passing attack. If San Francisco indeed improves their passing game, then Hyde will truly be a valuable fantasy asset once again!
Verdict: Keep’em
Peyton Manning, QB Broncos
Manning is owned in 92.6 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues. I hate to say it, but Manning’s time in the NFL is drawing to an end just like his time on my fantasy rosters. This season, Manning has thrown for 1,524 yards, seven touchdowns and a dreadful 10 interceptions. He has completed 61.6 percent of his passing attempts and holds a 72.5 QBR for the 2015 season. Even with all of the weapons in guys like Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders in his arsenal, Manning just hasn’t found a way to produce consistent fantasy numbers this year. He may be winning games for the Broncos, but he won’t be winning many contests for your fantasy squad.
Verdict: Cut’em
C.J. Anderson, RB Broncos
Anderson is owned in 85.2 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues. Out with the old and in with the new! Ronnie Hillman is the new running back in town and Anderson is officially on his way down the Broncos depth chart. This year, he has rushed 67 times for 180 yards and no touchdowns. Anderson has also caught just 13 passes for 100 yards and no scores. Many of you more than likely drafted him with a late 1st or early 2nd Round pick and are quite frustrated by now with his play. Sadly, Anderson just hasn’t come through for his fantasy owners in 2015, making him one of this season’s biggest fantasy busts!
Verdict: Cut’em
Julius Thomas, TE Jaguars

Thomas is owned in 79.0 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues. Just a season ago Thomas was riding high in that larger than life Broncos offense, now he resides in Jacksonville with a much younger crew. He started the season off on the injured list but made his return just a few weeks ago. This season, Thomas has caught 10 balls for 102 yards and a touchdown. These aren’t staggering numbers by any means but he will be a solid option as the season progresses. Come fantasy playoff time, Thomas will face off against defenses such as the Titans, Colts and Saints who he should be able to take advantage of.
Verdict: Keep’em
Rashad Jennings, RB Giants
Jennings is owned in 84.7 percent of ESPN fantasy football leagues. The running back position in New York just keeps getting more and more complicated with Jennings becoming a lesser part of it each week. In 2015, he has rushed 71 times for 302 yards and one touchdown. Jennings is sharing reps with Shane Vereen, Andre Williams and even Orleans Darkwa. Between these four running backs, there’s no clear picture of who will be the main rusher each week for the Giants, so I’m saying there’s no chance that I will own any Jennings stock going forward in 2015.
