Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 1/1/16: Values

Happy New Year everyone! Man, it feels like forever that I’ve put up any content! Hope everyone had a great holiday. If you haven’t been to the site in a while, you might have noticed a few changes, I’m currently working on a site overhaul as well as bringing on some new writers to the GoingFor2 team. I’ve been extremely busy over the last four weeks and have been unable to really do much writing, but I’m glad to get back to it. So let’s talk values tonight…

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 1/1/16: Values

Point Guard

Ish Smith, 76ers $5,800

nba fanduel lineup 1/1/16His price is on the rise, and he isn’t as good a play as he was a few short days ago, but at $5,800, and a juicy matchup with the defensively challenged Lakers, he may be the highest owned player tonight.

Aaron Brooks, Bulls $4,000

This one is strictly dependent on Derrick Rose‘s status. If Rose sits Brooks gives the Bulls a nice scoring threat off the bench behind Kirk Hinrich, and though I don’t expect him to score 29 points again, at $4,000 he doesn’t have to.

Shooting Guard

Evan Fournier, Magic $5,600

nba fanduel lineup 1/1/16He was a popular value choice early in the season, but then experienced a dry spell and was not very effective. Well, he is back! Six straight games with 25 or more Fanduel points, while getting upwards of 35-plus minutes, a good matchup with the Wizards, and priced under $6,000 — I’ll take that all day.

Lou Williams, Lakers $5,300

If you are looking for value, look no further than the 76ers/Lakers matchup. There will be little to no defense played on both sides and all of their skill players are fairly cheap. This game will be hard to watch as an NBA fan, but as a DFS player, this game will be impossible to fade.

Small Forward

Chandler Parsons, Mavs $5,200

nba fanduel lineup 1/1/16The big game is coming — I can feel it. I’ve played him in each of his last three games, and while he hasn’t been bad, I keep expecting the game where he goes off. I may continue to play him until it happens. It’s a bit of a tough matchup with a tough Heat defense that keeps things at a slow pace — but a guy getting 30-plus minutes and viewed as one of the best offensive options on his team, he is bound to go off sooner or later. I know I didn’t write anything about yesterday’s slate, but I was telling anyone who would listen that last night was the night to use Paul George again (I also said Brandon Knight, but who’s keeping track). Trust me, the Parson’s breakout is coming, don’t miss it.

Robert Covington, 76ers $5,000

Here is another guy that sooner or later is going to have a huge game at a cheap price tag. With the great matchup with the Lakers, tonight could — and should — be that game. He will be extremely low owned — or at least, as low owned as a player can be on a five-game slate — and if he can reproduce what he was doing just a few short weeks ago, it will pay off handsomely.

Power Forward

Bobby Portis, Bulls $3,900

nba fanduel lineup 1/1/16Power forward tonight is an “all Bulls” special. Portis is no longer minimum value like he was when I first recommended him, but at $3,900 he is still damn good play. He needs only 20 fanduel points to hit value, a mark he has reached in the last two games. His stock is trending upwards, play him before his price goes up too much more.

Taj Gibson, Bulls $5,000

Gibson is an easy one. As long as Joakim Noah is out Gibson will be relevant. He gets a ton of minutes and can really fill up the stat sheet. I won’t waste too much time on him, but he will be in a lot of my lineups.

Center

None – Pay up tonight.
