Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice for Tuesday 3/8/16

Well, last night was another super high scoring night, and unfortunately, after putting up 371 two nights ago, I don’t think either of my lineups will crack the 300 point plateau (writing this before the GS/ORL game). After riding a hot streak for the last couple days, DFS has humbled me again. Gotta pick myself up and take another shot at it tonight…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 3/8/16

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone I’m avoiding — or “passing” on.

Point Guard

Game Winner John Wall (WAS) @ POR $9,600

nba fanduel lineup advice 3/8/16This game will have the highest over/under of any game on tonight’s slate, and I’m going to have as much exposure to it as I can. Wall has a very high floor because of his assist numbers. Even when his shot isn’t falling he can get double digit assists and is one of the better rebounding point guards in the league. The Blazers are bottom third defending the point guard, so look for Wall to flirt with 50 fantasy points tonight.

Dunk D’Angelo Russell (LAL) vs ORL $5,900

Welcome to the future of L.A. basketball. Not including the dud he put up against the Hawks, Russell has scored at least 30 fantasy points in five straight games. The Lakers will be riding high after the victory over the Warriors and that excitement will cultivate itself into some inspired play by the Laker rookie tonight. I’m looking for another 30-plus effort.

Half-Court Shot Patrick Mills (SA) @ MIN $4,200

He has seen an uptick in minutes over his last three games and his production has followed suit. With this being the second game of a back to back, against the sub-par opponent, Mills may see another uptick in minutes. The Spurs will look to rest Tony Parker in this game by limiting his minutes thus giving Mills more court time.

Pass Jeff Teague (ATL) @ UTA $6,200

After Teague’s big performance in their victory over the Clippers, I’m expecting everyone to jump on the Teague bandwagon again. Don’t fall for it. He is bound to let you down again, and there is nothing more frustrating than rostering Teague only to watch Dennis Schroder play most of the fourth quarter.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner C.J. McCollum (POR) vs WAS $6,900

nba fanduel lineup advice 3/8/16As I mentioned above, this game should have the highest over/under of any on tonight’s slate. McCollum should have a field day tonight with the short-handed Wizards (Bradley Beal will not play). The Wizards are 9th worst defending the two guard and McCollum is one of the better two guards in the league. A match made in heaven for DFS players.

Dunk Rodney Hood (UTA) vs ATL $5,400

The four-game road trip took its toll on Hood, whom previous to this roadie had five straight games with at least 24 fanduel points. The Hawks do not defend the two very well and this game will be played in Utah. That’s a recipe for a bounce-back game if there ever was one.

Half-Court Shot Garrett Temple (WAS) @ POR $3,600

With Bradley Beal not making the trip to Portland due to an injury, Temple will be in line to log all the minutes at the shooting guard spot. Granted, court time hasn’t resulted in production for Temple in the past, but at $3,600 he doesn’t have to do much. You could stack Temple with McCollum from the same game and expect to get at least 60 fanduel points from the shooting guard position, while spending only $10,500 on the two of them. That, folks, is five times value!

Pass Andrew Wiggins (MIN) vs SA $6,100

He has been pretty good of late, and there is no reason to think he can’t be good here, but against the Spurs, I’ll take my chances elsewhere.

Small Forward

Game Winner Carmelo Anthony (NY) @ DEN $9,100

nba fanduel lineup advice 3/8/16A lot of the narrative for this game will center around Melo and his return to Denver. I’m not going to make a big deal about it, it was a long time ago. What I will make a big deal about is Melo’s 40-plus fanduel point games over his last 10 games. Only twice in the last 10 games has he not exceeded 40 fanduel points. At $9,100, he needs 40 fanduel points to reach five times value, which he should have no problem doing.

Dunk Kent Bazemore (ATL) @ UTA $4,900

Baze has really come on of late and is putting up some solid numbers for the last week or so. It’s a tough matchup with Utah, but at $4,900, he is worth the risk needing only 25 fanduel points to hit five times value.

Half-Court Shot NONE

Pass Gordon Hayward (UTA) vs ATL $7,300

With he Utah Jazz at full strength from a health standpoint, Hayward hasn’t quite been the player he was just a few short weeks ago. Yes, he is still capable of putting up huge numbers, but with Derrick Favors back in the starting lineup, he doesn’t have to.

Power Forward

Game Winner LaMarcus Aldridge (SA) @ MIN $7,400

nba fanduel lineup advice 3/8/16Because of the lack of depth at this position tonight, I feel as though everyone will be on the aforementioned Favors and Paul Millsap. Both are coming off huge games, which will push their ownership high, so I’m looking at Aldridge as a contrarian play, at a lower price, with similar upside.

Dunk Julius Randle (LAL) vs ORL $6,200

In my last write up I said Randle would get junk time minutes in the game versus the Warriors, I was right, but I didn’t think the Lakers would be the ones with the big lead! Coming off the high of that victory look for Randle and the Lakers to ride that emotion into this home game against the Magic, a team that may be without their starting center, Nikola Vucevic. If Vuc misses this game, look for Randle to get another double-double.

Half-Court Shot Thomas Robinson (BKN) @ TOR $4,000

The Nets can’t possibly go back to giving him minutes in the teens after his 18/17/5 performance the other night — Right?… Right? Knowing them, they probably will, but if he can get minutes in the 20s he can’t hit five times value priced at a mere $4,000.

Pass Kenneth Faried (DEN) vs NY $7,600

He was one of my favorite plays last year but has fallen off my DFS radar entirely in 2016. He has become too inconsistent for me. Yes, he had a huge 50-plus fanduel point game last time out, but he could easily come out tonight and give you 15.

Center

Game Winner Nikola Vucevic (ORL) @ LAL $8,000

nba fanduel lineup advice 3/8/16Assuming he plays of course, which is up in the air as I write this, he has a great matchup with the smallish frontcourt of the Lakers. If he plays, he should be dominant on the inside.

Dunk Rudy Gobert (UTA) vs ATL $6,900

The Hawks traditionally have struggled with the center position in terms of fanduel points allowed and this year is no different. Their biggest Achilles heel is rebounding, where they currently rank third worst on the season. I don’t need to tell you that Gobert is one of the best rebounding centers in the league and could easily put up 15-18 rebounds in this game… Okay, I didn’t need to tell you, but I did anyway.

Half-Court Shot Robin Lopez (NY) @ DEN $5,800

Not including that Portland game, Lopez has been one of the top value plays at center not named Alex Len over the past week, and with a good matchup against the Nuggets, he should continue to be one.

Pass Karl-Anthony Towns (MIN) vs SA $8,900

Normally I love playing him. He is one of my favorite “pay up” centers to roster, but a matchup with the Spurs will scare me away.

The 6th Man (other plays I like)
