No split slate on a Monday, and as the usual cycle has gone early in the season, yesterday’s slate was full of aces and today has only two. So without further ado…
Top Pitchers
Johnny Cueto (DK – $, FD – $10,600) – Cueto is the top play today and it’s not really close, which means he should be very highly owned. Cueto is a -165 favorite and has pitched great this year. Cueto has a 3.26 SIERA and 22.6% strikeout rate and has pitched seven innings in every outing this year. On top of that, the Reds have struggled against RHP with a .278 wOBA (28th) and 22.2% strikeout rate (21st).
Kendall Graveman (DK – $5,800, FD – $5,200) – Graveman is the cheapest pitcher on both Draftkings and Fanduel, but has pitched much better than his price reflects. He sports a 3.68 SIERA and 20.0% strikeout rate and the Mariners have been about league average against RHP. He doesn’t have huge upside, but he offers solid value for such a cheap price.
Top Hitters
Jose Altuve (DK – $5,000, FD – $4,100) – Without any high end pricey pitching today, we’re able to pay up for a few more bats today than usual, and Altuve is a great target. He may be the hottest hitter in baseball this year with a .306/.404/.633 slash line with 21 Rs, 9 SBs, 7 HRs, 11 2Bs, and 14 RBIs. And second base is always a weaker position, so having the money to pay up makes him an easy choice. Berrios has a lot of talent but is still no match for Altuve, and he should be able to get the best of him.
Michael Conforto (DK – $3,800, FD – $4,300) – Conforto has been locked in and crushing the ball, yet his price stays below $4K. He has a .342/.418/.633 slash line and the Mets face Mike Foltynewicz, who really struggles against lefties, allowing a .401 wOBA to RHH. All the Mets lefties are in play, but especially Conforto at his tremendous price.
