MLB Fanduel Advice 5/3

Cashed for a fourth straight day thanks to a big day from my Indians Brantley and Kipnis. Onto five straight for Sunday’s early-beginning slate!

Pitchers

Johnny Cueto, CIN – $10,600

I love building my cash lineups around an ace, and the fact that the ace has an attractive matchup is simply gravy. Johnny Beisbol is going up against a weak-hitting Braves team on Sunday, so expect him to do nasty things to the Atlanta hitters. His pitching counter-part is flamethrower Julio Teheran, which doesn’t bode well for Cueto’s win potential but hopefully the Reds offense can get to Teheran often and early. Look for a ton of strikeouts from Cueto on Sunday, and a quality start or better in terms of innings and ER predictions.

Michael Wacha, STL – $8,300

This Pac Man is off to a great start to the season for the Cardinals who are suddenly without Adam Wainwright for the remainder of the year. Wacha can emerge into the ace that St. Louis is looking for, and he’ll get another good chance to showcase his skills on Sunday against the big-swinging Pirates. Pittsburgh has some more than commendable hitters in McCutchen, Marte, and Neil Walker, however these guys like to be aggressive and that bodes well in Wacha’s favor. Look for the young Cardinals righty to have a nice outing with a good amount of K’s, and the offense should jump early and often on Pirates starter Vance Worley.

Other Options: Jarred Cosart (MIA), Tim Lincecum (SF), Nathan Karns (TB)

Hitters

Stephen Vogt, C, OAK – $3,100

Yes Vogt is still mashing at the plate, and a day off on Saturday should do him some good for his potential production on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. Vogt is going up against righty Yovani Gallardo, which is a matchup DFS players have to love. Finally, the A’s backstop is still affordable even if you have Cueto on your roster. Slam dunk pick here.

Evan Longoria, 3B, TB – $3,200

Longo is absolutely crushing lefty pitching this year (9-for-16, 4 BB), and he’ll look to continue that trend against Orioles hurler Wei-Yin Chen. This game is being played at Camden Yards in Baltimore, which helps Longoria’s case for better production (instead of Tropicana Field). The Tampa Bay Rays could be due for an offensive outburst on Sunday, and Longoria is going to be in the middle of the action so get him in your lineups!
