MLB Fanduel Gut Feeling 6/15

After not being able to write this weekend I’m back with a fresh lineup for this evening that I feel will be GPP worthy.  If you took my advice on Friday’s slate you should have found yourself comfortably winning in 5050s and double ups (Friday’s results are at the bottom of this blog).  The only thing I’m worried about is the weather in Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago and St. Louis.  Chicago and Detroit looks like it could be the most problematic. Here is my lineup for tonight:

Pitcher: Tim Hudson $6,500
Hudson has been a somewhat serviceable pitcher this season and tonight he faces a struggling Seattle offense.  Hudson should pitch well enough to get a win, although his strikeouts could be low.  But at $6,500 you’re not expecting David Price numbers anyway.

Catcher: Matt Wieters $3,200
Wieters has been hitting well since his return to the lineup and I’ve never been a big Harang fan.  I expect at least one extra base hit out of Wieters tonight.

First Baseman: Miguel Cabrera $4,800
Coming off of his regular clubbing of the Indians (seriously check the numbers he owns them). Miggy gets to play against the Reds who have been known to have high scoring games.  Weather permitting this is a good matchup for Cabrera. rain option: Albert Pujols $4,000 or a hot hitting Freddie Freeman $3,900

Second Baseman: Danny Espinosa $2,700
I always go cheap at shortstop and second base in lineups like this and tonight is no exception.  Espinosa has been struggling at the plate (only five hits in his last 7 games; three of those coming in one of those games). He’s also facing a pitcher in Erasmo Ramirez who’s been pitching well.  Tonight I think Espinosa has a multi-hit game and that’s why he’s my Ultimate Gut Call.

 Third Baseman: Todd Frazier $4,300
I like Frazier’s matchup vs. Anibal Sanchez a pitcher who has given up four earned runs or more in three of his past five starts.  I’m banking on the Reds being able to take their scoring pace on the road this series, as Detroit has been in some higher scoring games recently. rain option: Josh Donaldson $5,000

Shortstop: Andrelton Simmons $2,400
Simmons has a base hit in seven of his past ten games and faces a pitcher in Porcello who gives up almost a hit per inning.  I like Simmons chances here.

Outfielder: Alex Gordon $2,800
Gordon should shine against Lohse, a pitcher who has struggled this season.  If the Tigers game looks like it could be rained out, I will put more Royals in my lineup.

Outfielder: Jose Bautista $5,100
The Blue Jays are one of the hottest hitting teams in baseball, and Bautista is due for a big game (hasn’t homered since June 7th).  Mets pitching has been off lately so I like the potential for another strong Jays outing.

Outfielder: Denard Span $3,100
Span has multi-hit games in three of his last five games including a stolen base in each of his last two games.  Span should have a similar game tonight against the Rays which I figure to be one of the higher scoring games tonight.  I believe Ramirez’s hot pitching streak for Tampa ends tonight.

Confidence Level: 4 out 5
5050 and GPP worthy.  Good luck everyone!!
