MLB FanDuel Gut Feeling 6/22

[do_widget subscribe]

After a brief hiatus due to preparing for my summer vacation (perks of being a teacher) I haven’t been able to post a lineup in a few days.  But I’m back now, ready to win some more 50/50s.  Here is my lineup for tonight.  Just a reminder this lineup is made early in the day so be sure to check about 15-20 minutes before first pitch for possible scratches.  I’ll update on here if I am able.

Pitcher: Tom Milone $6,500
The Twins pitcher had arguably his best outing of the season against the White Sox back in April (two hits and seven strikeouts over 7.2 IP) and has back to back 10+ fantasy point outings in his last two starts.  He faces the White Sox again tonight so I’m hoping this cheaper option at pitcher comes through since this will allow me to fill my lineup with more valued hitters.

Catcher: Victor Martinez $3,000
I’m always a big proponent of rostering players going against former teams, it seems to work more often than not.  And V-Mart returns to Cleveland in what should be a fairly high scoring series against the Indians.  Martinez is batting .333 since his return for the DL and I expect that to improve tonight.  Martinez is my Ultimate Gut Call.

First Baseman: Miguel Cabrera $5,100
Just by casually watching Tigers baseball and seeing the highlights it seemed that Cabrera had been owing Indians pitching.  So I did a little research.  In nine games vs the Indians he’s batting an amazing .647 (22-34) with five homers and 15 RBIs.  He’s also drawn seven walks.  Barring injury Cabrera will be my first baseman for this entire series.

Second Baseman: Brian Dozier $3,900
While Dozier is only 3-18 in his last five games, there aren’t many pitchers in the league that can get you right like Danks of the White Sox.  A bounce back game is a huge possibility here.

Third Baseman: Evan Longoria $3,900
I like Longoria at home against a Blue Jays staff that’s been fairly friendly to hitters this season. The Jays pitcher tonight has given up 86 hits in 77 IP this season.

Shortstop: Asdrubal Cabrera $2,300
With high priced hitters scattered across my lineup tonight I had to go cheap somewhere.  And Cabrera has been batting the best out of all shortstops under $2,500 and has a favorable matchup vs Toronto.

Outfielder: Kevin Kiermaier $2,600
Kiermaier has hits in six of his past seven games.  While he doesn’t have much power he should get a couple of base hits tonight.  With seven stolen bases on the season he may even steal one tonight.

Outfielder: Mike Trout $5,200
I’m really liking that I’m able to have Trout and Cabrera in the same lineup tonight.  Trout has hit more homers against the Astros than any other team this season (four).  Another one could be in the works tonight.

Outfielder: Nelson Cruz $3,300
With a modest four game hit streak going, Cruz will go against Royals pitcher Joe Blanton, who I didn’t even know was still in the majors until recently.  Cruz’s streak should continue tonight.

Confidence Level: 4.5 out of 5
Depending on how Milone fairs tonight it could be a really good night.  I’m throwing this into a GPP to see how it goes.  A lot of players playing against teams that they have good history against.  Good luck tonight!
