After a nice vacation from baseball, we are back at it in full swing (no pun intended) for daily fantasy sports! Â I hope everyone takes advantage of the freerolls that FanDuel is offering today. Â I try to survive another round in the FanDuel Survivor Pool tonight. Â Here is the lineup I’m taking into tonight’s full slate of games:
Pitcher: Jose Fernandez $10,500
The Marlins ace has been pitching lights out since his return from the DL with wins in both starts and no walks with 15 strikeouts. Â Tonight he squares off against Adam Morgan and the Philadelphia Phillies. Â Tonight is Fernandez’s first road start this season against a team that can hit well from time to time but I think he’ll be just fine and pick up another win tonight.
Catcher: Stephen Vogt $3,000
Vogt has been tearing up right handed pitching lately and faces a righty in Ervin Santana that is still trying to find his footing this season. Â Vogt could open up the second half of the season in style.
First Baseman: Joey Votto $3,300
Votto and the Reds face Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer tonight. Â While Bauer has pitched well, when things go south, they go SOUTH. Â Votto had reached base six straight games going into the All Star Break and this game seems like a good opportunity to extend that streak.
Second Baseman: Robinson Cano $3,000
Although Cano is 1-7 career against Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka, I always like the “star player returning home” type aspect. Big production tends to occur in these circumstances. This makes Cano my Ultimate Gut Call.
Third Baseman: Evan Longoria $2,900
Longoria and the Rays enter a big series in Toronto with the Blue Jays. Â This could potentially be a high scoring series. Jays starter Drew Hutchinson is 8-2 but his ERA is 5.33.
Shortstop: Jung-ho Kang $2,600
Going into the All-Star Break Kang had performances of 3.5, 7.25, and 3.5 points, not bad for a person of his price range. Â I like him tonight in a matchup with the Brewers.
Outfielder: Adam Jones $3,200
Jones and the Orioles take on a Tigers pitching staff that has been struggling as of late outside of Price and Verlander. Â Jones has four homers since July 6th so this could be a good combination for production.
Outfielder: Michael Brantley $3,200
With hits in six of his past eight games, Brantley seems to have recovered from that back injury he suffered in June and is poised to have a big second half. Â Tonight’s game against the Reds will be a good start.

Outfielder: Christian Yelich $3,200
The Marlins get their first look at pitcher Adam Morgan tonight in Philly, and Yelich is batting a respectable .261 against lefties. Â Yelich has been hot at the plate in July and I expect that to continue tonight.
Confidence: 4 out of 5
A strong pitcher with a slew good hitters means this lineup should do well. Â Good luck everyone!
