MLB FanDuel Lineup Advice 4/19

Happy Sunday everyone, and I hope you used my lineups yesterday because both cashed! King Felix and Danny Salazar were great picks, along with my Padres stack. Let’s hop into the Sunday slate!

Pitchers

Matt Harvey, NYM – $10,500

The Mets ace is the most expensive pitcher on FanDuel today, but he is going to be well worth the price going up against a Marlins team that is batting .226 collectively on the season and who also rank in the top 10 in the majors in strikeouts. As I’ve mentioned in the past, building your cash game lineups around an ace is so clutch (the cut off to cash in my 50/50 last night was 33, King Felix got me 22 just by himself!) Roll Harvey out in your lineups with confidence, I’ll try to help you find hitter value a little later.

Michael Pineda, NYY – $8,500

Pineda has great career numbers against several prominent Rays hitters (Longoria 0-11, DeJesus 4-15), and playing in Tropicana Park makes him a tantalizing tier-2 pitching play for today. The Tampa Bay lineup has a propensity for swinging and missing, and Pineda definitely has the repertoire of pitches to continue that trend. Let’s see if the Yankees hurler can put up an awesome start; his immense talent can definitely allow him to.

T.J. House, CLE – $5,900

Let’s put our tunnel vision on and forget House’s last start against the Tigers that left his ERA at a whopping 40.50. Today, the Indians southpaw has a great matchup against the offensively-challenged Twins and has the opportunity to be a great value play. House could get a good amount of strikeouts against that heavy-swinging lineup, and the win potential is definitely there with no-name Trevor May going up against the Indians lineup. If you’re looking for a sexy GPP play or are feeling adventurous in a cash game, T.J. House might be your guy.

Hitters

Carlos Santana, 1B, CLE – $3,300

Santana has a great matchup today against the aforementioned Trevor May in hitter-friendly Target Field, and I think he is underpriced. This game has the potential to score a lot of runs, and if that were the case, Santana is going to be right in the middle of that action. Also, the Indians first baseman will help keep his FanDuel score out of the negatives with his excellent knack to get on base.

Freddy Galvis, SS, PHI – $2,300

What? I’m telling you to start a Phillies hitter in your lineups? Well, Galvis has been a steady contributor for Philadelphia all season and he is slated to bat in the #2 spot today against Nationals’ righty Stephen Strasburg. The incredibly low price tag and fair matchup are enough to give Galvis a look if you went with an ace as your pitcher.

Kris Bryant, 3B, CHC – $3,500

Let’s be honest, we all want to start Bryant in our lineups some point in the near future, simply because he’s Kris Bryant. Why not today against Andrew Cashner, who doesn’t pose the best matchup but has been known to make mistakes in his career and leave balls over the plate. Bryant will be batting clean-up in that above average Cubs lineup, so look for some good fantasy counting stats and hopefully he can have a good day for your lineups!
