MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/24

Had an off day yesterday thanks to another lackluster performance from a lefty ace (thanks Sale) and a big 0-for-4 from Joey Votto. Let’s get back on track today and have a strong start to the weekend! As always, hit me up on Twitter @FantasyRam with any questions or suggestions you may have for my lineup or Fanduel questions in general.

Pitchers

Shane Greene, DET – $8,700

While I think King Felix can have a good day, I think I need to take a break from recommending aces for a little bit. Most fantasy and DFS players are probably aware of the Tigers’ Shane Greene by now, and for good reason. Greene has a miniscule 0.39 ERA to go along with a cool 3-0 record, and is going up against the sluggish-starting Cleveland Indians today. The Tigers hurler has a ground ball percentage of nearly 52% and is allowing a BABIP of .188, which suggests that his current pace is sustainable. Greene is not a big strikeout guy, but look for him to go deep into the game and hopefully ride the coattails of that potent Tigers offense.

Alex Wood, ATL – $8,200

Traditionally a strikeout pitcher, lefty Alex Wood gets to go up against a lousy Phillies lineup tonight with many batters who take their hacks from the left side of the plate: Utley, Howard, Asche, Revere. Wood has had a quality start in nearly all three of his outings, and while I’d like to see more K’s on his stat sheet, I think today might be a day where he can remedy that situation. Citizen’s Bank Park is known to be a pitcher-friendly stadium, so this can only help the Braves southpaw. You gotta love the cheap price and tantalizing upside for Wood, along with a killer matchup. Start him with confidence tonight.

Pablo Sandoval, 3B, BOS – $3,200

The Kung Fu Panda is looking to make a good impression with his new Red Sox brethren, and I think they are going to buy him a nice dinner after tonight. Sandoval hit .317 with 11 homers against right-handed pitching last season, and today he is going up against the rather unimpressive Miguel Gonzalez of the Baltimore Orioles. The Boston third baseman is a permanent fixture in the middle of the Red Sox lineup, so I expect him to have a juicy fantasy night tonight.

Angel Pagan, OF, SFG – $3,400

The speedy Giants outfielder is always a threat for a big day at the plate, but today is looking like a must-start type of day for Pagan. He’s going up against youngster righty Eddie Butler in Coors Field, and I think most DFSers can put those pieces of information together to predict a monster day for Pagan. He should be batting in the upper-third of the Giants lineup, and none of the Rockies catchers are impressive at throwing out base runners. Consider this a “perfect storm” type of matchup for the electric Angel Pagan.
