MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/28

Sorry that today’s post is a little late, I had some technical difficulties (operator error) last evening where I couldn’t log in to post. Well, a sub par day from my hitters really put a damper on my lineup, especially an uninspiring 0-4 performance from McCutchen. Let’s hop into today’s slate with a lot of aces on display!

Pitchers

Johnny Cueto, CIN – $10,400

If you’re choosing to fade Kershaw tonight, the next elite guy up would be Johnny Cueto of the Reds and he is poised for a fantastic night. He has a great matchup going up against the injury-plagued Brewers, and has the opportunity at racking up double-digit strikeouts tonight. The win potential is there too, because I’m sure we’re all well aware by now that Kyle Lohse is no world-killer. Look for a solid overall night from the Redlegs tonight, and that will certainly be beneficial for Bryan Price’s weekly expletive count.

Michael Wacha, STL – $8,400

I’ll once again cite my favorite DFS dogma of 2015 thus far: “Well, if he’s pitching against the Phillies…” to explain why Michael Wacha is a good play tonight. He’s pretty cheap and has a supremely good matchup going up against that hapless  Phillies lineup. Pac Man (get it?) has been off to a great start in 2015, and look for him to continue his early season success on Tuesday night. His strikeout numbers have been rather modest through his first three starts, but I think the Cardinals starter could accumulate eight or more tonight. The win potential is super tantalizing, with recent call-up Severino Gonzalez on the bump going up against one the best lineups in baseball.

Starling Marte, OF, PIT – $4,000

Marte is hitting well against lefty pitchers so far this season (4-for-9, 3 HR), and it also helps that Travis Wood isn’t Clayton Kershaw 2.0. The Pirates outfielder is cooling off from a recent hot streak, but I think that tonight might be the night where he starts a new streak. This game and pitching matchup has the potential for a lot of runs to be scored, and you’re going to want to be in on the action with owning one of the most formidable Pittsburgh hitters.

Chase Headley, 3B, NYY – $2,700

Coming off a day of rest, the Yankees third baseman has a good matchup ahead of him tonight against Jake Odorizzi of Tampa Bay in Yankee Stadium. The Rays hurler has been dominant to start the year, however Headley has been better on the left side of the plate this year and that short porch in right field of Yankee Stadium is just too attractive. If you’re looking for some salary relief to be able to afford an ace, Headley is a great option at 3B tonight for cheap.
