MLB Fanduel Lineup Advice 5/8

I had an easy time cashing my all day lineup to push my streak to nine straight days, thanks to a massive day from Yasmani Grandal. Unfortunately, Chris Archer was erratic and ruined what could have been an even better lineup. Let’s go for ten straight on a full Friday slate!

Pitchers

Matt Harvey, NYM – $10,600

The early NL Cy Young frontrunner has an excellent matchup Friday against the weak-hitting Phillies in the spacious Citizen Bank Park. Harvey is the obvious play at pitcher for cash games, because he has the opportunity at a lot of strikeouts and a long outing on the mound (hopefully a win too). You are still able to build a coherent lineup around Harvey, so there’s no reason to not play him tomorrow in most lineups.

Gio Gonzalez, WAS – $8,900

Another NL East flamethrower has a great matchup against a division opponent, as Gio Gonzalez finds himself going up against the Atlanta Braves. The southpaw has only pitched one game at Nationals Park this season, but he was great in that outing going six innings and giving up zero runs. The prominent hitters in the Atlanta lineup are mostly left-handed, which bodes well for Gio’s opportunity at a lot of strikeouts. Expect six or more innings from Gonzalez with 7+ K’s and hopefully he can get the win with opposing lefty Eric Stults on the mound.

Other options: James Shields (SD), Trevor Bauer (CLE), Jimmy Nelson (MIL)

Hitters

Scooter Gennett, 2B, MIL – $2,400

Still incredibly cheap, Gennett is returning from an early stint on the DL and can provide great value on Friday if you are looking to fit an ace into your lineup. He has the platoon advantage over Cubs starter Jason Hammel, and should hopefully bat towards the top of the lineup. All of these are great facets of the ideal DFS play, so be sure to check lineups and get Gennett in your lineups if he is playing.

Ian Desmond, SS, WAS – $3,000

In a really shallow position, Friday night might not be the night to spend up for Tulowitzki and some of the lower end options don’t provide enough upside to warrant being in lineups. A nice option that is right in the middle is Ian Desmond of the Nationals, and he has a nice matchup against unimpressive lefty Eric Stults of the Braves. Hopefully Desmond can bat in the beginning half of the order rather than the latter half, but either way he should be a solid option on Monday night.
