MLB Happy Hour: DFS DraftKings Lineup Advice for 5/25/16

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Back at it tonight with an 8 MLB game Slate for May 25th, 2016! Here’s a look at our cash line from last night:

Pitching

Hisashi Iwakuma $7,500 vs. OAK

Tonight’s pitching slate looks ROUGH… So the strategy for tonight’s pitching slate: look to Vegas for help. Use Vegas lines and run predictors to your advantage because 8 times out of 10 Vegas is right. The two teams favored highest on tonight’s slate are Seattle(-171) and Boston(-172), so for cash games, I’m looking to those starter’s for the win potential(Especially on FanDuel). Iwakuma’s best outing of the season actually came against Oakland, where he pitched 7 strong innings and picked up the W on the road in Oakland. His strikeouts have been down this year (0.8 K/inning pitched) but at many times last year, Iwakuma looked like Seattle’s ace, love Iwakuma for his price tonight at pitcher-friendly Safeco Field.

Steven Wright $8,800 vs. COL

Wright has been awesome this year, as he’s thrown two complete games in just 8 starts in 2016. Wright comes into tonight’s start with a 2.52 ERA and an excellent 1.08 WHIP. Really like Wright tonight because he is a knuckleballer and hasn’t faced the Rockies before in his career, so it’s going to take some time and at-bats for the Rockies to get a read on him. Aforementioned, the Red Sox are -172 favorites because their offense has been absolutely on ? ? ? over the last two weeks, Wright should get the W tonight handily against righty Chad Bettis.

Lineup

Welington Castillo $3,600 @ PIT

Castillo is really making a name for himself in Arizona as he comes into tonight’s ball game hitting .284 with 7 home runs at the catcher position. There are just a handful of solid offensive catchers in the game today, which makes the catcher position such a shot in the dark in fantasy. Castillo has a match made in heaven tonight against lefty Jeff Locke, just look at Castillo’s L/R splits this season:

Lefties-     45 AB    15  H    5   HR    .349  AVG

Righties – 91  AB    23 H    2 HR    .253 AVG

Castillo is my Call Your Shot Pick of the Night tonight, I say he takes Locke deep tonight in Pittsburgh.

David Ortiz $5,100 vs. COL

This will be Ortiz’s last season in the bigs, and he’ sure is making the most of it, as he’s having arguably his best season of his career(.333, 11 HR, 41 RBI) Ortiz and company get to take on righty Chad Bettis at Fenway tonight, and Vegas has the O/U on the game at 9.5 runs, and in Boston’s favor, there should be plenty of fantasy points to go around tonight for Bo Sox.

Taylor Motter $3,300 vs. MIA

Much like their AL-east Rival Red Sox, the Rays have been on ? ? ?at the plate over the past couple of weeks, as they lead the Majors in home runs coming into tonight. Tampa Bay takes on lefty Justin Nicolino who has a 6.36 ERA over his last four starts and really struggles against righties. The Ray’s lineup is filled with right-handed batters, and Motter has been excellent since getting called up, batting .308 with 2 HR, and a couple of walks in limited at-bats. If he is in the starting lineup tonight, he should have excellent value at just $3,300 at SS.

Jose Bautista $5,400 vs. NYY

The Blue Jays have been a huge disappointment this year for fantasy owners, but they have had excellent success against Ivan Nova in the past, as their team BA against him is .292 lifetime. Earlier this season, the Blue Jays knocked Nova out of the first inning, as he gave up 4 earned runs on 5 hits. Bautista, in particular, has had a lot success against Nova, batting .348 with a HR, and 3 doubles against him. Playing at Yankee Stadium, a lot of balls will be leaving the yard tonight(on both sides), gotta like a Toronto stack for cash games tonight in NYC.
