NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice 3/17/16

What’s up guys? Man, it has been a tough couple of days in Fanduel land. After a cold spell over the weekend, I finally had a good night on Monday. The verdict is still out for last night’s games, as I write this the late games haven’t even tipped off yet, but Allen Stephenson from the Grizzlies is going to be the death of my lineup unless he gets some junk time. I really thought he’d be good coming off of a 30 point fanduel night. Guess not…

I got some exciting news to share. We will be having the Founder of NoHalftime coming on as a guest on the podcast at some point this week. If you haven’t checked out the iOS app NoHaltime yet, I would definitely suggest you do, and then be sure to check out the podcast with Bruce, the Founder. You can learn more about what NoHalftime is by clicking here: NoHalftime. From that page, just click the banners to sign up and be sure to use Promo Code: G42 to get $5 free to play!

In addition to the Founder of NoHalftime, next week I’m going to have the Founder of DailyFantasyNerd.com on the show to talk about his awesome optimizer that is so much more than an optimizer. I use DFN for a lot of my research. It has everything you will need. Vegas over/under, Vegas spreads, usage, pace, DvP, and the part I really love, and something you can’t find anywhere else (for free) is if you click on a player’s name it will highlight their stats from previous games for the opponent they face that night. For example, if you wanted to know how Lebron James has played in his previous games versus the Celtics, simply click his name and bam, highlighted game stats and fanduel/draftkings scores.

Okay, now that all the promos are out-of-the-way, on to the entrée…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 3/17/16

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside.

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone I’m avoiding — or “passing” on.

Point Guard

Game Winner John Wall (WAS) @ PHI $9,400

nba fanduel lineup 3/17/16After  huge night last night, registering a triple-double, John Wall gets tonight off…I mean he gets to play the Sixers. Okay, all jokes aside the Sixers haven’t quite been pushovers lately, I mean they are still getting blowout but it’s by 15, not 30. As long as the Sixers keep this one semi-close, which I expect them to do, Wall could have another 50-plus fanduel point night.

Dunk Shelvin Mack (UTA) vs PHO $5,500

Love our content? Check out the GoingFor2 Live Podcast Network!

Mack has gone from a punt play to fantasy gold over the last few games. With three straight games over 30 fanduel points, Mack has a chance to make it four with a good matchup with the Suns. I like Mack even more if Gordon Hayward is out.

Half-Court Shot Isaiah Canaan (PHI) vs (WAS) #3,900

With all the injuries the Sixers have had, Canaan has been forced into a larger role. In his last two games, he has gone over 30 minutes, and as long as the Sixers remain short-handed Canaan will be viable. He gets less than one fantasy point per minute, which isn’t good, so he needs to get 30-plus minutes to hit value. Check the news today to make sure all the Sixers are out for, at least, one more game before playing him.

Pass Damian Lillard (POR) @ SA $8,900

He has had three straight sub par games and now he gets the Spurs in San Antonio. No thanks.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner DeMar DeRozan (TOR) @ IND $8,400

nba fanduel lineup 3/17/16I have a rule when it comes to studs coming off “rest days” and that rule is — play them! Star players hate to sit out and DeDe sat out that win in Milwaukee. He will be itching to get back on the court and the Pacers will pay the price. The Pacers actually defend the shooting guard position well, but it won’t matter, DeDe is that good.

Dunk Gary Harris (DEN) @ ATL $5,400

He started off the week as one of my “Half-Court Shots” and has played his way into a “Dunk” tonight. Where everyone had expected Will Barton to be the one to step up in Danilo Gallinari‘s absence, it’s actually been Harris that has stepped up his game. Due to low ownership, his price tag has stayed relatively cheap. The Hawks are a good defense overall, but they struggle to defend the shooting guard spot. Expect Harris to continue his hot streak.

Half-Court Shot Nik Stauskas (PHI) vs (WAS) $4,000

He has two straight games with 25 fanduel points or more, at $4,000 you will take that. Tonight he gets the fast paced Wizards, and he should have no trouble getting 25-plus again tonight.

Pass Jimmy Butler vs BKN $8,600

Bad knee and the second game of a back to back? I’ll pass.

Small Forward

Game Winner Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) vs MEM $10,200

nba fanduel lineup 3/17/16Four of his last nine games he has gone over 60 fanduel points, including a 70-point game against the Nets. This guy is playing out of his mind lately and it baffles me how this team isn’t any good. There is no way I’m fading this guy tonight in a great matchup with a depleted Grizzlies team.

Dunk Bojan Bogdanovic (BKN) @ CHI $4,700

I came very close to playing this guy the other night, but those last-minute switches got me. Of course, after I switched him out,  he proceeds to get 50 fanduel points at a sub 5k price. I don’t expect 50 again tonight, but I’ll settle for 30.

Half-Court Shot Joe Ingles (UTA) vs PHO $3,500

Ingles got the start in place of Gordon Hayward the other night and honestly wasn’t that great, but he did have LeBron James guarding him for much of the night. Newsflash! The Suns don’t have LeBron James. If Ingles gets the start in place of Hayward again, look for him to have a much bigger game.

Pass Gordon Hayward (UTA) vs PHO $7,000

I expect him to be out, but even if he gives it a go, plantar fasciitis is very painful, especially for a player like Hayward that needs his explosiveness, it is very hard to push-off or make sharp cuts with that type of injury.

Power Forward

Game Winner Paul Millsap (ATL) vs DEN $8,000

nba fanduel lineup 3/17/16After a week of inconsistent performances, Millsap has become a little hard to trust, but in this game against Denver, I think he has one of stat filling type nights. I’m going to predict a 15pt/13reb/4asst/2blk/2stl type of night. That’s about 45 fanduel points.

Dunk Jabari Parker (MIL) vs MEM $6,600

His price point no longer affords you the huge upside it used to when Parker was on your roster, but sometimes you’re looking for consistency, and he has been exactly that for over a month. He gets a good matchup with the depleted Grizzlies and a very smallish frontcourt.

Half-Court Shot Carl Landry (PHI) vs WAS $4,900

This guy has been money in the bank since being inserted into the starting lineup. As long as the Sixers remain short-handed, look for Landry to continue to put up fantasy-friendly stats.

Pass LaMarcus Aldridge (SA) vs POR $7,900

I can hear the narrative now. Revenge game! I don’t buy it. This will be his third time facing his former team and this game isn’t even in Portland. So why pass on him? He didn’t play well in either of the other two games. Maybe the Blazers players just know him well enough to limit his production. Whatever the reason, I’m fading him tonight.

Center

Game Winner Brook Lopez (BKN) @ CHI $8,300

nba fanduel lineup 3/17/16Process of elimination brought me to Lopez. Pau Gasol has been out the last two games and could miss this one as well. Hassan Whiteside is listed as a game-time decision, as is Marcin Gortat and Jonas Valanciunas. That leaves four healthy top-tier centers and Lopez is the best of the group and has a great matchup.

Dunk Rudy Gobert (UTA) vs PHO $6,100

I’m not sure exactly what has happened to Gobert in March, but the Suns offer a good matchup to help him bounce back. Tyson Chandler is too slow to guard Gobert and Alex Len is seemingly in constant foul trouble. I swear he must start the game with one foul with as fast as I see him racking them up.

Half-Court Shot Bismack Biyombo (TOR) @ IND $4,200

Everytime Bismack makes my column, I think of this song. I know, I know, it’s Bismack, not Biz Markie but it brings back memories. Okay, I just lost all the college kids that follow this blog, but my 35 and up readers know what I’m talking about. Jonas Valanciunas is currently listed as a game-time decision, and if he doesn’t play, Bismack makes for an outstanding play versus a Pacers team that lacks size in the frontcourt. Let’s all hope Jay Val is out and when Bismack is scoring 30-plus fanduel points we can all sing, “Oh baby you, got what I need…” Thank god this is print and not audio, no one wants to hear me sing.

Pass Everyone one of the GTD guys, because even if they play, I don’t trust them

The 6th Man (other plays I like)
