NBA Draftkings Picks 8/31/2020

THE STAR

Giannis Antetokounmpo (11,400)

I absolutely love the Greek Freak, I fully expect this series to be alot closer than the previous one vs the Magic. That means more minutes and less risk of a blowout for Giannis and the Bucks. The only way I see Giannis not putting up 70+ DK points is if Butler gets inside of his head and causes and ejection. It’s game 1 the Bucks mean business this season. The best thing about Giannis is that he wont score under 20 points, and in this matchup I cannot see him getting less than 15 rebounds, you add a floor of around 5 assists to that and blocks and steals there is no way Giannis doesn’t smash here.

THE MID-RANGE

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (7,100)

This one I thought about for awhile, I think you could easily put Goran Dragic here. This is an upside/minutes play, Shiggy in close game will play 40+ minutes , he’s coming off a disappointing game which could drive ownership down, if he scores its hard not to like him. That’s the risk you take drafting someone who is semi scoring dependent.

THE VALUE

Brook Lopez (5,300)

I’m putting Brook Lopez here mainly because I think it’s a tough choice between him and Jeff Green who is similarly priced at (5,400). We get a new matchup for López which I love, and that speaks volumes to just how good Vucevic is. Lopez is a guy who will shoot the 3 and shoot anywhere from 9 to 13 times , half of which come from behind the 3 point line. In his 3 matchups vs Miami this year 2 of 3 were great and one was so-so. I love seeing that heading in to what I expect to be a long series, I’m in on López in game 1.
