NBA Fanduel Line-up Advice and Analysis for 4/8/15

The NBA has been kind to us two days in a row. Another huge slate tonight with 13 games on the docket. Hope everyone had a good night on Tuesday. I’m writing this as the games are still being played, and I’m teetering right at the cut line. Hopefully by the end of me writing this, I’ll come out on top.

With the NBA season winding down things have been very difficult to predict. My number one play from yesterday, for example, was ruled out. It seems everyday I’m scrambling to adjust my lineups, sometimes plugging in guys just before lineup lock. It can be exciting, but at the same time frustrating.

I do all this research, come up with what I think is the perfect balance of players, only to have to change it 15 minutes before tip. I’m sure everyone is going through the same struggles. I literally have my iPhone alarm set to go off at 6:50 everyday, just so I don’t forget to check my lineups.

Enough complaining, let’s get to today’s Top Ten….

Today’s Top Ten Plays

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Elfrid Payton

10) PG Elfrid Payton $7900 Its pretty much the rule at this point, take the point guard matched up with the Bulls. Payton has a very high floor as a “do everything” point guard, he doesn’t have to score to get you value. He is a triple double candidate every night, and I expect him to be on his game tonight against Aaron Brooks.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Anthony Davis

As a Pelicans fan I want to rank him higher, but his matchup just isn’t good enough to justify dishing out 12k. I would only use him in a tournament,he’ll be hard pressed to reach value in a cash game. With that said, he is still a dominant player, and could easily go out and get 60+. That’s why he makes the list.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Reggie Jackson

Jackson has only  one game under 30 over his last 10 games, and he has a few 40 point games  and one 50 point game in that stretch. I don’t see Boston being able to slow him down tonight. He’ll push for 40+ tonight.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Rudy Gobert

7) C Rudy Gobert $8900 He has reached a point where his price tag leaves very little upside, but in a great matchup with the Kings, he is definitely  worth paying up for, especially if Boogie sits out. I’m expecting a strong double double, something like 20 and 18.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Brook Lopez

6) C Brook Lopez $8800 How could he not be in the Top Ten? Bro-Lo has been money of late. Now his one bad game recently was against this same Hawks team, but I’m not expecting a repeat performance. He is at home for this one, and with this being a back to back for Atlanta, expect some players to rest.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
James Harden

Harden checks in a little lower tonight than normal due to his matchup, but Harden is pretty matchup proof. I haven’t watched any of the Spurs/Rockets games this year, but my assumption is Leonard will be on Harden for some of this game but not all. Harden will see some of Danny Green as well, and he will own him. No disrespect to Green, but Harden has pretty much owned everyone this year. It’s crazy to think that 3 players with legitimate MVP aspirations over the past few years all used to be on the same team. Harden, Westbrook, and Durant could have been a traveling all-star team.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Andre Drummond

4) C Andre Drummond $9400 He has been consistently producing high 40 and 50 point games. He is good for one every few games, and I think he’ll be good for one tonight versus a smallish front line for the Celtics. He will be worth the price tag tonight, expect 45-50 Fanduel Points.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
Kawhi Leonard

3) SF Kawhi Leonard $8100 The Spurs are gearing up for the playoffs, and they will only go as far a Kawhi can take them. The torch has been passed from David Robinson to Duncan to Tony Parker, and now it’s Kawhi’s time to shine. At $8100 he is under valued, especially with small forward being so shallow night in and night out. You either punt small forward or you pay up tonight.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
LaMarcus Aldridge

2) PF LaMarcus Aldridge $9000 Coming off a rest day with a great matchup is what makes Aldridge the number 2 play tonight. NBA players don’t like to take games off, they are forced to by their coach. If you look across the league, in games where a coach rested a player, that player typically comes out after the rest game and plays well. Coaches take that as validation to resting players, I think it’s more of competitive nature. No player wants to be healthy, sit on the sidelines, and watch his team lose to a lesser opponent. Aldridge did just that, he watched his team lose to the Nets Monday. He’ll take it out on the Wolves tonight.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice 4/8/15
John Wall

1) PG John Wall $9600 Wall has been an assisting machine lately with double-digit assists in his last 4 games, highlighted by his 18 assists against New York. I’m expecting a huge double double from Wall tonight, something in the range of 25 and 15. He may even flirt with a triple double.

 Honorable Mentions

  • PG Kemba Walker $7900
  • PG George Hill $7500
  • SF Andrew Wiggins $7000
  • PF Jordan Clarkson $7700
  • SF Tobias Harris $6600
  • C Marcin Gortat $6900

Dunks of the Night

  • PG Mike Conley $6000 He has been solid over his last 5 games and he has a great matchup with New Orleans.
  • PG Zach LaVine $5700 He is on this list enough, you should already know.
  • PG Aaron Brooks $5500 He has to do something to stay on the floor, and since his defense is so bad, offense is where he earns his money.
  • SG Lou Williams $4900 As long as Lowry is out, he is usable.
  • SG KCP $4900 Hit or miss, but has been more hit lately.
  • PF Ersan Ilyasova $5800 He has been solid lately, though he did struggle against the Cavs last time they played.
  • PF Marvin Williams $5000 A mainstay here as long as that price stays under 6k.

Passes of the Night

  • PG Tyreke Evans $8000 Very tough matchup.
  • SG Victor Oladipo $7900 Jimmy Butler
  • SF LeBron James $11000 The talk of rest, coming from James himself, has me nervous. He may play, but could play limited minutes.
  • PF Nerlens Noel $8400 Wizards interior defense is very good.

Punts

  • C Bismack Biyombo $4100 As long as he is starting he will be a good play.
  • PF Louis Scola $4300 Always makes the most of his minutes, and likes playing New York.
  • PF Ryan Kelly $4200 Gets tons of minutes and better matchup then He has had over his last 2 games.
  • PF Mike Muscala $3900 As long as Milsap is out, get him in your lineup.

That’ll wrap it up for today and as I finish writing this, the Clippers game is in the 4th and all 3 of my lineups in every contest is cashing. Great night. Tripled my entry fee from tonight. Can’t beat that.
