NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 5/2/15 and 5/3/15 and a GoingFor2 Site Recap

Ok, wishful thinking here. I’m assuming there will be a Fanduel 2-day contest for this weekend, but as I currently write this, there is nothing opened. I just wanted to start the post so it’ll be easier for me to update when the contests do open.

In the meantime, we can talk about a few things going on here at GoingFor2. First, in case you missed it, we had a new writer join our team. DFSDoctor will be writing DraftKings MLB content, and you can follow him on Twitter @DFSDoctor. I’m really excited to have him aboard, and look forward to some awesome content.

Meanwhile, Brendan has been on a pretty good hot streak with his Fanduel MLB lineups, and if you haven’t checked out his stuff yet, I would suggest that you do. I’ve blindly ran some of his lineups, since I know very little about baseball, and I’ve had awesome results. You can follow him on Twitter @FantasyRam.

Then there is Josh. The guy with a twisted sense of humor and great deal of hate and dislike. He writes the  “Why I Hate” satire blog about everything that is wrong with sports…. according to him. You have to take it a little tongue in cheek, but it’s a break from the normal sports stuff you read. Check out his latest post “13 Reason’s Why I Hate the NFL Draft”. Follow him on Twitter @jomac006.

The NBA Season is slowly but surely ending, and Fanduel contests are getting harder to come by due to the lack of games. I posted about a month ago “What to expect from GoingFor2 When the NBA Season is Over”, so in case you missed it, check it out. Some of the things will be a little out-dated,  at the time I was still looking for a baseball writer and now I have 2! Since I don’t write baseball content, I’ll spend the summer writing some season long  NFL content. I’ve got a bunch of things planned to keep myself busy in between seasons, so be on the watch for them.

Goingfor2 has come a long way since it’s inception, January 2015, and in 4 short months has started to create a name for itself. I’m continuing to look for new ways to improve the site and I hope that everyone enjoys what we’ve been able to do so far.  Now we wait until the Saturday/Sunday contests are put up……

Contests are up. I’ll do my usual positional breakdown, but today I’m going to post 2 lineups. I have plans with the wife later this evening and I won’t have time to reply to a bunch of email and twitter requests. Lets dive in…

Point Guard

NBA Playoffs Fanduel Lineup 5/2 and 5/3
John Wall

John Wall $9400 Of the 3 top options, I like Wall the most. Nearly 2k cheaper than Paul and in his 4 games this year versus Atlanta, he has averaged just under 40 Fanduel points. Curry has only one big game versus the Grizzlies this year when he scored 60 Fanduel points. The other 2 games he had 40 and 30 FDP, so for the cheaper price I like Wall.

NBA Playoffs Fanduel Lineup 5/2 and 5/3
Jeff Teague

Jeff Teague $6500 On the other side of that Washington/Atlanta matchup is probably the most well hidden secret of any player on today’s slate. In his 3 games this year versus the Wizards, he has averaged 40 Fanduel points, same as Wall, for nearly 3K cheaper! His floor his pretty high as well, I mean dude didn’t score a single real point in his last game and he still got you 25 Fanduel points.

Shooting Guard

NBA Playoffs Fanduel Lineup 5/2 and 5/3
Klay Thompson

Thompson $7400 This is an easy pick to make, that I know, but I just wanted to point something out  to keep an eye on as the series moves forward. Golden State and Memphis played 3 times this year, and in 2 of those games Klay was sub-par. So why do I have him featured? Well, that brings me to my point, his best game of 53 Fanduel points came in the only home game for the Warriors. Klay plays much better at home in general, so pay attention to that as the series continues.

After Klay things get sticky as there are 4 guys I like, but all have the potential to flop as well. My suggestion is to build your lineup and leave this spot empty and see what you can afford. The 4 guys I like are Korver, Redick, Tony Allen, and Courtney Lee.

Small Forward

NBA Playoffs Fanduel Lineup 5/2 and 5/3
DeMarre Carroll

DeMarre Carroll $6100 Carroll was “meh” versus the Wiz this year, with games of 17, 29, and 26, but it’s hard to ignore what he did in the last series. I’m expecting him to stay hot, and Paul “Little White Lie” Pierce won’t be able to slow him down.

Otto Porter $3900 Otto is the value pick here. I expect him to get some good minutes being the one charged with slowing down Carroll. The Wizards went small in the last series with Paul at the 4 and Otto at the 3, they won’t be able to do that in this series or Atlanta will kill them inside. Otto may not get as many minutes as he did the last series, but he will still see the court plenty.

Power Forward

Blake is the obvious pay-up player here, so no need to talk about him.

NBA Playoffs Fanduel Lineup 5/2 and 5/3
Tim Duncan

Tim Duncan $8000 Both Milsap and Randolph have struggled versus the respective teams they are matchup up against this weekend. So by process of elimination, Duncan is the easy choice. He has averaged 40 Fanduel points in this series, and now its game 7, who do you think I’d put my money on to come up big? Exactly.

Borris Diaw $5200 He continues to be a great value at power forward, and really the only one I trust that’s not in the top 4. Nene is just too risky. If your paying up for Blake, Diaw may be your best complement to that.

Center

I don’t really love any of the options at center today. Gasol has struggled against Golden State, Gortat has struggled against Atlanta,  and DeAndre is too expensive to justify paying up for. So at center today, I’m going value:

NBA Playoffs Fanduel Linuep 5/2 and 5/3
Tiago Splitter

Tiago Splitter $4000 He got 28 minutes in his last game, and though his numbers weren’t great, you have to like the fact that he got good minutes. I’m expecting him to play even more minutes in game 7 and to get 28-33 Fanduel.

That wraps up my featured players for today. As I stated above, I’m going to post 2 of my lineups here. One will be my “safe” lineup. I’m not going to call it my Cash lineup, because I hate cash games on a 3 game slate. My other lineup will be more high risk/high reward. It’s the type of lineup that could hit and get you 380 or miss and get you 202, so play it at your on risk.
