Welcome back fellow dfs addicts! Hope your night was profitable (if you used the lineup I posted on twitter you definitey were). Remember to feel free to contact me on there for any lineup advice or suggestions, I ‘m here to help in any way I can. Now lets break down some baseball!
Starting Pitchers
Fair warning for selecting your starting pitchers today. There are a lot of average to above average pitchers taking the mound tonight, and a lot of these guys have “ok” matchups. Unfortuantely, not many guys stand out to me, and with the Nationals game looking like it may get rained out the only true ace on the board(Strasburg) is not in play for me. So my strategy for today is to pick some decent value pitchers so I can fit in those expensive bats that I want.
Zack Greinke ($9800) – Greinke is a decent pitcher with decent strikeout potential, who’s facing a less than decent team in the Brewers. I know they pulled out the win last night (and stole the 4 points I need to cash some more in my GPP) but I still don’t trust them as a legitimate force to destroy my starting pitcher.
Shane Greene ($6500) – Ok let me be upfront, I was born and raised in Detroit, so I love every oppotunity I get to play some of my Tigers. But besides my own bias, I truly think Greene can make a decent play today. The White Sox have been playing pretty poorly as of late, but the chance of Greene imploding is still there. Remember, today just isn’t a great day for pitcher selection. Some risk will be involved.
Stephen Strasburg ($10,200) Strasburg is a player I faded earlier today because the chance of being rained delay, but now that the weather seems like it’s going to be ok he becomes one of the best plays on the board. His matchup and his elite strikeout ability is what sets him apart today. For me however, I’m looking at that price tag and it’s tempting me to skip right over Straszy( new nickname, you can credit the Doctor #Straszy). Play him in your cash games as he may be the safest pitcher out their tonight, but if you put him in a gpp understand he’s going to be highly owned.
Honorable Mentions: Jeff Locke, Drew Smyly, Bartolo Colon
Ok let’s focus on some good bats, because these pitchers have given me a headache today! Today I’m gonna throw up my favorite picks at each position.
Editor’s Note: I’m not including players from the following games because of rain delay. ( Cin v. Pit, Mia v. Was, Col v. Ari) If the weather looks to clear up I’ll update this list before game time. Update: The weather is looking good to go for those games I faded earlier.
