The Only Fantasy Football Waiver Article You Need, Week 10

Hard to believe we are already in double-digit weeks into the NFL season. Entering Week 10, here are the GoingFor2 team’s top waiver wire adds this week…

RB Jeff Wilson Jr. (MIA)

After being traded to the Dolphins from the 49ers on Tuesday, Wilson led the team in snap percentage on Sunday. Head Coach Mike McDaniel was the offensive coordinator for the 49ers just last year, so Wilson was able to re-learn the playbook in just a week leading up to the game. Wilson played in forty-nine percent of the snaps, compared to incumbent Raheem Mostert’s forty-seven percent.

Wilson amassed twelve total touches(three receptions) for 72 total yards and a receiving touchdown(good for a total of 16.2 PPR fantasy points). Although Wilson has a bye in week 11, this bye is sandwiched by favorable matchups against the Browns and Texans. Despite the tough breakdown of the Dolphins’ backfield being unknown moving forward, fantasy managers can pick up Wilson off of waivers and plug him into their lineups as an RB2/flex. WR Odell Beckham Jr. (FA)

In full discretion, Beckham is currently unsigned by an NFL team. He is expected to be fully medically cleared by the end of the week and it wouldn’t be surprising if he signs with that next team this week as well. Coming off of an ACL tear in the Super Bowl, “fully medically cleared” means that Beckham would be ready to start practicing by the end of the week.

Teams that have been linked to signing him include 1) the Cowboys; 2) the Bills; 3) the 49ers, and 4) the Rams. Based on his playoff production in 2021(21 catches for 288 yards and two touchdowns in four games), no other wide receiver who is owned in less than sixty percent of Sleeper redraft leagues offers as much upside. Beckham could be that missing WR2/flex that you need to put you over the top. Brian Craighead @vandygrad92

TE Cole Kmet (CHI)

For a few weeks, it looked like my optimistic Kmet-ment was perhaps misplaced. Don’t look now, but in the last two weeks alone, Kmet has three more touchdowns (3) than he had all last season (0). While that may be a humorous way to note his recent TD success, it should not come as a big surprise. If you were paying attention, you saw the Bears’ pass rate was increasing in recent weeks, as were the designed runs for quarterback Justin Fields, so the overall offense was improving.

Now, defenses have to add Chase Claypool to their list of Bears pass catchers to worry about, which will likely help Kmet. In a tight-end premium league, a league with more than 12 teams, or a deep roster league, he is likely already stashed.

In other leagues, he might well be available. We know what the tight-end position is: a few elite options and then a lot of volatility and uncertainty. I’ve even referred to the tight end as a “barren wasteland” after the top players. In other words, you could do worse on waivers (and certainly as just a streamer) than Kmet. Brian Ford @ffjunkie_

(1) WR Terrace Marshall (CAR)

Marshall has had a nice recent stretch of games, posting double-digit points in back-to-back contests. He has appeared to have a hold on the #2 WR role in Carolina outside DJ Moore. Scoop him up now as more double-digit weeks should be ahead. I’m not too concerned about Baker being back at QB for them. Zach Carlson @ZachAttack180

(2) WR Terrace Marshall (CAR)

Terrace Marshall is currently and quietly breaking out. This 2nd-year wide receiver runs a 4.45 40 time with an above speed and burst score. We all seem to forget he was a talented 2nd round draft pick coming into the NFL out of LSU. Marshall found the endzone for the first time in his career this past week. He put up over 14 fantasy points, now scoring double-digit points 2 weeks in a row.

These numbers are definitely flex-worthy going forward, plus he has great matchups the next two weeks against Atlanta and Baltimore. I picked up Marshall last week in two separate redraft leagues after his 9-target game the week prior, played him in my flex spot, and won both games in close matchups. Now is your chance to grab him before he hits your league mates’ radar with these next two juicy matchups. Jamie Perog @JamiePerog

WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (CLE)

I recommended Donavon Peoples-Jones in the week 8 waiver article as a flex play. He finished that week as the wide receiver #34 scoring 12.1 points. Last week the Browns were on a bye week and DPJ is player fantasy managers could have dropped for a starting player. It always pays to look at players who were on bye the previous week, which could help your team in the future. Some players might have been dropped to make room on a roster or other players might not be on your league mate’s radar. Peoples-Jones fits both of these molds.
Prior to the Browns’ bye week, Peoples-Jones is averaging 5 receptions and 75 yards a game over the last few weeks. He has been consistently on the field playing between 80-90% of snaps with 5 RedZone targets this year. Peoples-Jones is a great separator on his routes averaging over 2 yards of target separation which is currently top 15 in the league.

He has flashed upside and proved he can be reliable on big plays. If these numbers continue to be his floor, he has massive upside when Deshean Watson returns in week 13 right in time for the fantasy playoffs. I recommend being aggressive on your waiver wire and adding this potential league-winning wide receiver before it’s too late. Jamie Perog @JamiePerog

TE Cade Otton (TB)

As the weeks go on, this rookie is getting more and more work. As we look at the TE landscape and shake our collective heads and throw up our hands and think WTF do we do with the TE position? Cade Otton has slowly, but surely started climbing that TE ladder. He has had weeks in the top fifteen of the TE rankings.

With the injuries, Tampa Bay has had at the WR position Otton has been a stable and reliable target for Tom Brady. On the year Otton is 23/32 246 yards 1 TD. Last week alone 5/6 68 yards 1TD. He is a rookie, playing with one of the best QBs of all time and has earned the trust of Tom Brady. Jayson Barnes @FantasyJay77

D/ST Bears

Defense and Kickers are slowly deteriorating in fantasy football these days, but some leagues still choose to play with those positions. If you are playing in one of those leagues, I have a sneaky defense that you can stream this week who are not on anybody’s radar. DA BEARS!!! Yes, I said it, the Bears D/ST. Why should we add this defense in week 10 if they scored negative points for the past two weeks? The answer is purely matchup based. The Bears are facing the Lions in a divisional matchup.

The Lions allowed more fantasy points to opposing offenses over the last month than any other team in the league. Do not let the past two weeks fool you with Chicago facing two high-powered offenses, the Cowboys and Dolphins. The Lions are nowhere near the firepower of those two teams. Chicago Bears is my top D/ST streamer this week. They are a must-add who can put up massive numbers against the Lions’ struggling offense. Jamie Perog @JamiePerog

RB Rachaad White (TB)

Rachaad White has been recommended as a pickup multiple times already throughout the season but for some reason, his roster percentage continues to be below 50%. His role in Tampa Bay’s offense is slowly but surely increasing and I expect that to continue. It takes rookie running backs time to get acclimated to the offensive scheme, and learn the plays and the pass protections, so it’s not surprising to see White come on slowly.

However, his talent is undeniable and he has the ability to be a three-down back in the NFL which makes him a must-stash in my opinion. Not only is White proficient as both a runner and a pass-catcher but he has elite speed that I think will allow him to carve out a significant role in this backfield and eventually jump Leonard Fournette as the RB1 altogether. Since opening night against the Cowboys, Fournette has averaged only 2.8 yards per attempt (100 carries, 278 yards) with two touchdowns.

On the other hand, White is averaging 3.2 yards per attempt (32 carries, 103 yards) in that same stretch. Fournette can’t continue to underwhelm and expect to have a stranglehold on this backfield. Rachaad White is the younger, more explosive, running back at this point and I think it’s only a matter of time before he’s handed the keys to this backfield.

The Bucs’ offense has been all out of sorts and sometimes when things just aren’t working, coaches are willing to try anything or anyone that will give them a spark.

Rachaad White can be a difference-maker for this team and spark some life back into the Bucs’ rushing attack. If he’s available in your league, snatch him up because this dude could be a fantasy stud in the second half of the season and a potential league winner if Fournette were to miss significant time. Evan Ritter @Ev_Ritt3

WR Mecole Hardman (KC)

With the departure of Tyrek Hill, the Chiefs have been looking for his replacement. Over the last four weeks versus Vegas, Buffalo, San Francisco, & Tennessee, Hardman has been a very solid receiving option for the Chiefs. But over the last two weeks, Hardman has been a top-six WR with a combined stat line of 10/15 111 yards 2 TDs. With the idea of wanting a piece of good or great offensive teams, Hardman has been a very solid FLEX play. Jayson Barnes @FantasyJay77

QB Case Keenum (BUF)

Homer alert! I’m digging deep down for this pickup and a lot of it depends on the short-term status of Josh Allen. At the time of this write-up, Allen has some more tests to go through before we know his future. He suffered an apparent elbow injury in his throwing arm and the range is anywhere from a stinger to ending Tommy John Surgery.

If Keenum is forced into action it might not be that bad. He still has the same weapons and the same schedule as Josh Allen would have. Over the next 2 weeks, 8 more teams are on bye including QBs like Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady, and Tua so there could be some value to be had with Keenum.

I’m sure the Bills’ offense will feature a few more run plays and Case doesn’t have the rushing upside as Allen does but the offense isn’t built to run heavy so there will be some passing to go around. If we get the word that he’s starting in week 10, I’d consider him over guys like Taylor Heinicke (at Philadelphia), Geno Smith (at Tampa Bay), and Ryan Tannehill (vs Denver). Jerry Wilke @JerryWilkeFM

QB Jimmy Garoppolo (SF)

I get it, he’s owned in a high percentage on sleeper, but with Burrow, Jackson, and potentially Allen not playing Week 10..he’s my streaming QB. The Chargers have been struggling in the secondary.

Since starting Week 2, he’s put up 1,691 yards with only four interceptions. With all his crazy weapons, especially gadget CMC, I feel with thin wavier options, Jimmy G is one of the best to grab. So. I grabbed him this week looking ahead. Courtney Burrows @luvtractor3
