Top Pitching Options
Dallas Keuchel (DK – $12100, FD – $11200) – Today’s slate includes four ace pitchers in Keuchel, Price, Archer, and Salazar and all are in tough spots against good teams in hitters parks. Keuchel, though, is in the best spot of the bunch against a Mariners team that hits righties much better than lefties. The Mariners sport an average 0.311 wOBA (15th) and 22.4% strikeout rate (24th) against LHP this year. With his 2.77 SIERA and 22.8% strikeout rate on the year, Keuchel takes the baton as the top pitching option on the slate today.
Colby Lewis (DK – $7800, FD – $6900) – I’m just as surprised as you that it has come to advocating for Colby Lewis as a tournament or SP2 option, but he’s been decent lately and the slate is rough. Lewis gets a tremendous park upgrade going from Globe Life to Petco and faces a Padres team that doesn’t scare anyone. The Padres have a 0.298 wOBA (27th) and 21.6% strikeout rate (25th) against RHP this year. Prior to getting rocked by the Blue Jays in his last outing (and who doesn’t get rocked by the Blue Jays these days?), Lewis had turned in three straight starts with 19 DK points. There is always risk with Lewis, but enough to like to take a gamble in him today.
Top Hitting Options
Anthony Rizzo 1B (DK – $5300, FD – $4300) – With big bats in Coors and in the Yankees-Red Sox game today, the Cubs hitters may fly under the radar even though they should in a tremendous matchup against the Reds. Michael Lorenzen allows a 0.440 wOBA to LHH and Rizzo has a 0.387 wOBA and 0.263 ISO against righties.
David Peralta OF (DK – $4000, FD – $4000) – He’s been red hot of late, is in Coors, has the platoon advantage, and is $4000 on Draftkings. Draftkings must have missed the Coors price bump here, make sure to take advantage.
Chris Young OF (DK – $2900, FD – $3200) – Young is always a great option against a lefties with his 0.425 wOBA and 0.288 ISO. Despite Rodriguez showing reverse splits this year (small sample size), at this price it’s too great of a matchup to turn down.
Top Value Plays
Andres Blanco 3B/SS (DK – $2100, FD – $2800) – He’s the new Cesar Hernandez. Almost minimum price, hits at the top of the Phillies order, continues to produce. This lots of big bats in New York and Coors today, he’s a tremendous help to get them him. Lock him in.
