Top Pitching Options
Clayton Kershaw (DK – $12800, FD – $12000) – Kershaw’s price is getting way up again, but with good reason as he’s been dealing. Kershaw has a 2.36 SIERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 31.4% strikeout rate this year. He gets to pitch in pitcher friendly Petco Park and the Padres sport a mediocre 98 wRC+ and 0.307 wOBA with a 22.6% strikeout rate vs. LHP. Kershaw should rack up the strikes and shut down the Padres for a big day.
Jesse Chavez (DK – $7300, FD – $8300) – If you’re looking to go cheap at pitcher or pair a high priced stud with a value play, Chavez is a solid option. The Angels has a 0.297 wOBA (22nd), 95 wRC+ (16th), and 19.9% strikeout rate (16th) vs. RHP. Chavez has also pitch relatively well this year with a 3.52 SIERA and 21.5% strikeout rate.
Top Hitting Options
Nelson Cruz OF (DK – $4700, FD – $3600) – Cruz had back spasms earlier in the week and has taken a couple days off, but if he’s back in the lineup against Brett Oberholtzer he’s an absolute steal at $4700. Oberholtzer is a weak lefty with a 5.29 SIERA. Nelson has destroyed LHP this year, putting up a ridiculous 0.664 wOBA and 0.611 ISO. If he’s in the Mariners’ lineup he should be in yours.
Delino DeShields OF (DK – $3800, FD – $3300) – DeShields bats leadoff for the Rangers and gets a great matchup against a very weak lefty in Tommy Milone. Milone, who has a 5.55 SIERA, allows a 0.410 wOBA to RHH on the year. DeShields has hit LHP very well with a 0.405 wOBA, 161 wRC+, and 0.186 ISO. The Rangers are a great play today and with the platoon advantage, DeShields will be in the thick of it.
