Top Pitching Options
Jake Odorizzi (DK – $8600, FD – $8600) –The cycle has come vback around and we’re at another day with no ace. The best pitching value on the day is Jake Odorizzi. Odorizzi has pitched well this year with a 3.69 SIERA (2.61 ERA), 1.01 WHIP and 20.3% strikeout rate. In addition to his strong play, he has a great matchup against the Mariners. Seattle has a 0.293 wOBA (26th) and 23.5% strikeout rate (28th) vs. RHP. He’s the top option on the slate and at a great price of $8600 on Draftkings.
Williams Perez (DK – $5500, FD – $5800) – Perez has started three games for the Braves this year and has pitched well. He has a 3.78 SIERA and 21.6% strikeout rate. In all three of his starts, he has scored 19 Draftkings points and allowed a run or less. He has an average matchup at best against the Braves, who have a 0.313 wOBA (15th) and 16.8% strikeout rate (2nd), but with no elite options on the slate, he offer great value at a great price.
Top Hitting Options
Giancarlo Stanton (DK – $5800, FD – $5300) – His price has skyrocketed to nearly $6000 as he’s headed to Coors, but with pitching so cheap on the day you can afford to pay up for him. While Stanton has demolished LHP this year (0.504 wOBA and 0.576 ISO), he’s no slouch against righties either – 0.332 wOBA and 0.247 ISO. The Marlins face Eddie Butler, who is one of the worst pitchers in baseball, and Stanton should take advantage. After Joc hit a HR in every game at Coors, Stanton could be in line to do it next.
Hunter Pence (DK – $4700, FD – $3000) – Jerome Williams has struggled on the year with a 1.59 WHIP and 4.56 SIERA and Pence should take advantage. And although Pence and Williams are both righties, Williams has given up a higher wOBA to RHHs (0.390 wOBA) and Pence has hit righties better (0.367 wOBA and 0.193 ISO). The Giants are a good team to target and Pence will be in the thick of it as always.
Top Value Play
Ruben Tejada 3B/SS (DK – $2900, FD – $2800) – Tejada is still below $3000 and gets the tasty matchup against Hellickson today that he was supposed to have yesterday. His price has gone up $100 on each site, so get him at this value while you can, as he’ll be closer to $4000 soon.
