Top Pitching OptionsÂ
Gerrit Cole (DK – $10200, FD – $11200) – Chris Archer may be one of the best pitchers in baseball this year, but Cole has been on of the most consistent and gets a better matchup today. Cole has a 2.70 SIERA and 27.7% strikeout rate on the year and faces a White Sox team that is better against RHP than LHP, but still not good, with a 0.296 wOBA (23rd) and 19.4% strikeout rate (11th) vs. RHP. The Sox have also been cold lately with only 3 runs in their last 4 games. Cole sets up nicely for a solid day and a great cash and gpp option.
Danny Salazar (DK – $9400, FD – $9100) – The Cubs absolutely blew up Shaun Marcum and the Indians’ bullpen yesterday for 18 hits and 17 runs. Ryan Raburn and David Murphy even helped pitch the ninth. However, Salazar is a much better pitcher than Marcum and the Indians will lean on Salazar to pitch deep into the game. Salazar has a 2.64 SIERA and 30.9% strikeout rate, with an above average 13.6 swinging strike rate. The Cubs have an MLB worst 25.2% strikeout rate and an average 0.310 wOBA (18th) vs. RHP. Salazar’s upside is hug today, making him a great gpp option.
Top Hitting OptionsÂ
Troy Tulowitzki – OF (DK – 4700, FD – $4600) – The early slate is ugly for pitching and includes the Coors game, so it’s all about hitting. Tulo, while better against lefties, still boasts a 0.314 wOBA and 0.152 ISO vs. RHP and is unsurprisingly better at Coors. His price is a very playable $4700 on Draftkings, and although McHugh is a good pitcher, he still allows a 0.380 wOBA and 0.512 SLG to RHH, which should only be inflated by Coors today.
Adrian Gonzalez (DK – $4400, FD – $3200) – Anthony Ranaudo was called up from AAA for a spot start for the Rangers and gets to face the best team in baseball against RHP – 0.345 wOBA (1st) and 122 wRC+ (1st). AGon is one of the top hitters in baseball from the left side of the plate and has a 0.404 wOBA 0.246 ISO vs. RHP on the year. Both your cash game and gpp lineups should have a solid Dodgers presence, with Gonzalez at the top of that list.
