MIN @ BAL    ⛅

Pitching

Stephen Strasburg $11,200 @ ATL

Strasburg has a matchup made in heaven tonight against Atlanta, but more importantly, it’s a match made in heaven for fantasy owners as well. Strasburg dominated the Braves last year, winning both of his starts, throwing 13 Ks in 11 innings and not allowing a single run in either of his two starts. The Braves were able to capitalize on a couple of Scherzer’s mistakes on Monday, but strung together just 4 total hits in 10 innings of play. Strasburg is taking on 2015’s worst offense tonight in a pitcher’s park and he averaged more than a strikeout/inning against them last year. His price is a bit steep at $11,200, but he should be well worth it with no other aces on the slate tonight.

Brandon Finnegan @ PHI

Finnegan came over from KC in the Johnny Cueto trade and pitched really well for the Reds last year, going 5-2 with a 3.56 ERA. Finnegan was the top pitching prospect in the Royal’s farm system, which is why it took him and John Lamb to get Cueto off of the Red’s payroll. Finnegan is just $6,300 tonight taking on the 4th worst offense in the Majors last year in the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies have Maikel Franco and that’s about it…they struggled in most every statistical category last year, but especially when it came to hitting(3rd fewest home runs). His price tag makes it extremely easy to stack whichever team you wish and mix in a bunch of big name bats.

Hitting

Chris Davis $4,900 vs. MIN

mlb dfs 4/6Home runs are worth almost 20 points on FanDuel, which makes it extremely hard to catch up with considering a base hit is worth just a measly 3. For that reason, it’s best to stack hitters that have high home run potential like Nelson Cruz, Giancarlo Stanton, etc. Chris Davis has an excellent matchup tonight against righty Kyle Gibson, who gave up 19 home runs in 2016. With Machado, Adam Jones, and Trumbo batting in front of him, Davis should have plenty of RBI opportunities tonight in Baltimore.

Manny Machado $4,800 vs. MIN

FanDuel went the way of DraftKings and no longer dish out negative points to hitters for striking out or not getting on base. In turn, the more at-bats a player gets, the more opportunities they have for fantasy points. Machado has been batting 1st in the order for the Orioles, and getting a ton of at-bats and run scoring opportunities. Machado is part of the new wave of young studs in the league today who can hit for power AND steal bases(the Correas, Trouts, McCutchens), which makes for excellent fantasy production.

Adam Jones $4,500 vs. MIN

Vegas has the O/U on the Twins-Orioles game at 9 combined runs, which is the highest on tonight’s 7 game slate. An Orioles stack can be deadly because their whole lineup, top to bottom, is filled with powerful bats who can hit home runs, Machado, Trumbo, Crush Davis, Pedro Alvarez, even J.J. Hardy.

Carlos Correa $4,600 @ NYY

MLB DFS ADVICE 4/6

Correa picked up right where he left off last year on Tuesday, hitting a home run and swiping two bags against the Yanks. This kid can do it all, hit for power, steal bases, and his glove is probably the best in the game south of Andrelton Simmons. In all honesty, we may never play another shortstop besides Correa on DraftKings the rest of the year. There just aren’t many fantasy relevant shortstops in the game today, so it’s best to just pay up for Correa most nights and look for value elsewhere.

Miguel Sano $4,600 @ BAL

Sano is one of the best young power hitters in the game, no upper deck is safe in any ballpark when Sano is up at the plate. Last year, Sano hit 3 big flys out of Camden Yards mainly due to the Orioles’ poor pitching staff. Sano is a home run threat every time he steps up to bat, and with the new changes in the point system on FanDuel, home runs are king. It’s just gonna take one mistake by Gallardo for Sano to get an easy 18 fantasy points.

Eddie Rosario $3,900 @ BAL

mlb dfs sleepersAs a rookie, Rosario led the American League in triples last year after being called up early last spring. Rosario has been batting in the 5th spot for the Twins this spring behind Sano and Mauer and he’s facing a righty at hitter-friendly Camden Yards. Although many do not view the Twins as having a high powered offense, they actually had an above average offense last year and helped take down a few GPPs last year(Put up 15 runs in a game against the Orioles last August) A Twins stack will definitely be low owned tonight.
