NBA Fanduel Mid Season MVP Top 10

Counting down 10-1, the top 10 players in Fanduel so this year.
Counting down the top 10 players in Fanduel so far this year.

Well, I can’t wait till Wednesday or Thursday to post something, so I decided to do a Top 10 Midseason MVP. This is strictly for Fanduel, and not the actual NBA, though I’m sure it will have some parallels.

I’m also testing out a new blogging App for the iPad, which so far seems awesome. If you’re a blogger, look into downloading Blogsy for the iPad.

I’ll have my lineup up for Thursday’s two game slate in the next few days, so keep any eye out for it.

I’ve been working hard to improve some things on my blog with all this extra time, so in case you haven’t noticed, I now have a forums section. It’s pretty vacant right now, but I’m hoping with the return of the NBA, and hopefully traffic to my site, we can gain some more subscribers.

I’m also working on a “Projections Chart” that I’ll put out soon. Before I release it though I want to test it against actual live NBA games. So be on the look out for that as well. So let’s kick off the Top Ten.

TOP 10 MID-SEASON MVP’S

John Wall Fanduel MVP #10
John Wall

10) John Wall The 10th spot could have gone to a bunch of guys, but I ultimately decided on Wall because he does so much in the way of peripherals that you’ll rarely get a dud game from him. Currently leading the league in assists, averaging over 17 points a game, just under 5 rebounds a game, and adds nearly 2 steals a night, that’s production that can’t be ignored. With his Wizards primed for a playoff run, Wall is going to be even bigger in the second half, especially if Beal stays injury prone.

Chris Paul Fanduel MVP #9
Chris Paul

9) Chris Paul Chris Paul could have been higher up this list if he didn’t have the tendency to take a game off now and again. With Blake Griffin down for an extended period of time, Paul is going to have to be the man for a while. The Clippers are prime candidates for a mid-season trade to get some depth, their starters play entirely too many minutes, but Fanduel players don’t complain about guys getting too many minutes. Until Blake comes back from surgery, CP3 is a must start week in and week out.

Pau Gasol Fanduel MVP #8
Pau Gasol

8) Pau Gasol If you would have told me at the beginning of the season that Pau would be number 8 on my Mid Season MVP list, I would have thought you a little crazy. By far the most unexpected entry on this list, Pau has turned back the clock, check that, he has reinvented the clock. I don’t remember Pau ever being this dominant, so he isn’t “playing like his old self” he is playing like someone else entirely. If Pau had been this dominant over his whole career, he’d be in HOF discussions, maybe this adage that Kobe doesn’t make you a better player is true, maybe Kobe being Kobe held Pau back from reaching his full potential.

LaMarcus Aldridge Fanduel MVP #7
LaMarcus Aldridge

7) LaMarcus Aldridge How many guys break a finger, or thumb, or dislocate it, or whatever he did to his hand, and come back and play better? Not may that I can think of. Dude averages a double double, and not a weak double double either. How’s 23 and 10 sound? Sounds like a good reason to have him at number 7 in my MVP list.

LeBron James Fanduel MVP #6
LeBron James

6) Lebron James I don’t really need to explain why James is on this list, but I might have to explain why he is so low. First, he got off to a slow start. I know this first hand as I continued to pay top dollar for him, and continued to be let down. Second, he missed 2 weeks with an injury, which ended up being a good thing as he came back with a vengeance. He is the ultimate triple double threat averaging 26/6/7, so very few nights will he disappoint. After the all-star break, I expect even bigger things from him, if that’s even possible.

DeMarcus Cousins Fanduel MVP #5
DeMarcus Cousins

5) DeMarcus Cousins Cousins has one distinction from the other players on this list, he plays for a bad team. Sitting at 18-34 the Kings are just bad. I love George Karl, and I think he can turn this around, but it won’t happen this year. In the meantime, Cousins will continue to be a beast, and Karl will eventually make him and the team better, but for now enjoy Cousins as the number 5 MVP for Fanduel this year.

Russell Westbrook Fanduel MVP #4
Russell Westbrook

4) Russell Westbrook “Russell Westbrook, you’re the real MVP” Ok, all jokes aside, Westbrook has been a monster, despite having an MVP playing alongside him. He put up 80FDP in one game! Durant didn’t make this list because of all the injuries he has had this season, but it has allowed us to bask in the glory that is Russell the Muscle Westbrook.

Steph Curry Fanduel MVP #3
Steph Curry

3) Steph Curry Steph Curry is mesmerizing on the court. He does things with such little effort that it’s scary. What adds to the illusion is the fact he looks 12. If you were to take someone who has never watch a single NBA game in his life, line up 10 random guys in a lineup, one of which was Steph Curry, and asked them to pick out the NBA player, Curry would be last pick. Now a veteran in this league, they know what to expect, and they still can’t stop him.

Anthony Davis Fanduek MVP #2
Anthony Davis

2) Anthony Davis As a Pels fan it was hard to not put The Brow at number one, and one could argue that is where he should be. People forget this dude is only 21. 21! What were you doing at 21? This dude is dominating the NBA at 21, and he continues to develop. How good will he be in 3 or 4 years? I read a quote today that he wants to add a 3 point shot to his repertoire. He is 21, he has plenty of time to do that. Scary. What scares me more is the fact that my team has never been able to afford to keep their stars. Alonzo Mourning. Larry Johnson. Baron Davis. And recently Chris Paul. I hope we find a way to keep him, but I’ll settle for having him on my Fanduel Roster for years to come.

James Harden Fanduel MVP
James Harden

1) James Harden The Rockets without James Harden are a lottery team. With him, they’ll contend in the West, though I don’t think they’ll get as far as the Finals, Harden can get them damn close. Watching Harden on the court, you wouldn’t think this guy is as good as he is. He is very herky jerky with his movements, he isn’t the fastest guy by no means, he doesn’t really jump off the page when you watch him, but man is he good. He has “LeBron” like averages with 27/6/7 and can drop 50 points on you if you’re not careful. Hell he could do it even if you were careful. If Dwight Howard comes back, I think the Rockets are a better team, but I think he hurts Hardens value some, but for now Harden is your Mid Season Fanduel MVP.

That wraps up my Top 10 MVP’s so far this year. Did I leave someone out? You think someone should be higher? Lower? Let me know what you think. Also, comment on the new look with the images, and take time to register for the forums here.
