NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 16 (Main Slate – 12 Games 12/24/16)

Each week, I’ll create a cash game lineup for DraftKings. Since this is usually posted by Wednesday, the cash game lineups may change slightly by Sunday.

In cash games, you should always look for each player to reach at least 3x value.

DraftKings Points/(Player Salary/1000) = Value

Example: If Carson Wentz has a $5,000 salary and scored 15 DraftKings (DK) points, Wentz would reach 3x value based on the formula below.

15 DK Points/($5,000/1,000) = 3x Value

I will also present a 3x stat line. The 3x stat line is not a projection, but a hypothetical stat line that would allow the player to reach three times his value. When creating your own cash game lineup, choose players who you believe can reach the 3x stat line. If you look at a player and don’t think he can reach the 3x stat line, consider choosing a different option in your own lineup.

Week 15 Lineup Review

Our Week 15 Lineup did well. The lineup scored 144.76 DK points and cashed in all the 50/50s I entered. See last week’s lineup below.

NFL DFS DraftKings Cash Game Lineup – Week 16

QB – Drew Brees vs. (TB) – $7,400

Brees has at least 20.7 DK points in every game at home this season except one. In the game he didn’t reach 20 DK points, he still threw for over 300 yards. The Buccaneers rank 23rd against the pass (all rankings are from Football Outsiders). Brees has as good of a chance as anyone to reach 300 yards this week.

3x stat line: 300 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns, 1 interception, 2 rushing yards =  22.2 DK Points

RB – Jordan Howard vs. (WAS) – $6,300

Howard has double-digit DK points in every game since week 3 except one and has at least 99 total yards in every game since week 7. Washington ranks 26th against the run and has given up 14 rushing touchdowns to running backs this season.

3x stat line: 17 carries, 70 rushing yards, 3 catches, 29 receiving yards, 1 total touchdown = 18.9 DK Points

RB – Kenneth Farrow at (CLE) – $5,000

Farrow has averaged 19.5 touches per game over the past two weeks and will face a Browns defense that ranks 32nd against the run. The Chargers are favored by five in this game, so the game script should set up nicely as well. Farrow played 75% of the snaps last week compared to Ronnie Hillman’s 24%, so I’m not overly worried about Hillman taking touches.

3x stat line: 15 carries, 75 rushing yards, 3 catches, 45 receiving yards = 15.0 DK Points

WR – Jordy Nelson vs. (MIN) – $7,000

Nelson has double-digit DK points in every game this season except one. He has at least 91 receiving yards and/or a touchdown in every game since week 8, even while facing multiple difficult matchups. Mildly cold weather seems to favor the Green Bay passing game, and I will be betting on their top target.

3x stat line: 7 catches, 80 receiving yards, 1 touchdown = 21.0 DK Points

WR – Michael Crabtree vs. (IND) – $6,100

Crabtree has been the most consistent receiver on the Raiders this season. The Raiders have a team total of more than 28 points, and Crabtree is my favorite to grab a touchdown. Crabtree has the best matchup of all the Raiders wide receivers this week and has at least 6 targets in each game since week 7.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 63 receiving yards, 1 touchdown = 18.3 DK Points

WR – Cameron Meredith vs. (WAS) – $4,700

Meredith has averaged 10.5 targets and 20.8 DK points per game over his past two weeks. I’m expecting Josh Norman to shadow Alshon Jeffery in this game, leading Meredith to much easier matchups. Washington also ranks 29th against WR2s this season.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 81 receiving yards = 14.1 DK Points

TE – Cameron Brate at (NO) – $3,900

Only one other tight end has more red zone targets this season than Brate. He also is tied for the lead in red zone targets on his team. The Saints rank 25th against the tight end this season, yet there are eight tight ends priced higher than Brate on the main slate.

3x stat line: 5 catches, 67 receiving yards = 11.7 DK Points

FLEX – Michael Thomas vs. (TB) – $6,000

Thomas has just three games this year with single-digit DK points. A superior red zone target to Brandin Cooks, Thomas has a great shot at a touchdown this week as the Saints have a team total of 27.5 points. We should expect a plethora of points whenever the Saints are at home, and Thomas has the best matchup on his team against Vernon Hargraves III.

3x stat line: 6 catches, 60 receiving yards, 1 touchdown = 18.0 DK Points

D/ST – New England Patriots vs. (NYJ) – $3,600

The Jets have a team total of just 13.5 points. The Patriots are favored by 16.5 points in this game. In a game where the Jets are starting Bryce Petty and will need to throw to keep up, I think the Patriots are as safe of a cash game option as there is. The only knock on the defense is the second half may turn into LeGarrette Blount killing the clock which would limit the turnover potential for the Patriots defense.

3x stat line: 14-20 points against, 4 sacks, 3 total turnovers = 11.0 DK Points (3.05x)
